solana ivy jones

another year, another state, and another school. although this time, i was more excited than most cities i had moved to. my mom told me that this job was for a permanent position, so we wouldn't have to move unless we wanted to. she also told me that my favorite cousin, ray, lived close to where we did. i hadn't seen him since the funeral, so now living near him and maybe going to school would be a dream.

"lana you finna be ready? our flight leaves in 5 hours." my mom called from the kitchen.
"yeah, been ready." i said, hauling my two big suitcases out of my room.
"i'm real sorry you have to leave your friends again. i promise we're gonna stay in california for good." my mom said as we went down to the taxi. she was aware of how badly i wanted to stay in new york. the few friends i made here were my favorite out of all the states we moved to. they were all fun to be around, genuine, and welcoming. i just hope and pray that cali would be the same.

current day

"lana wake up, we late!" i heard my mom yell. i immediately jumped up and got dressed. i take my showers the night before so that wasn't something to worry about, but the one thing i forgot to do was pick out my outfit. this was a bad thing because i had so many clothes, and not having an idea of what i wanted to wear will take me longer.
"mom choose a random color!" i yelled loud enough for her to hear me.
"SHIT I DONT KNOW SOLANA, GREEN." she said, dropping something. i went over to my closet picking out a green long sleeve shirt, a comfortable pair of jeans, my korn adidas, and other accessories that fit with my outfit.

when the outfit was complete, i rushed to the bathroom to wash my face, brush my teeth, and cleaned my piercings.
"okay lana we gotta go, like right now." my mom said walking out of her room for the thousandth time. i stuffed a few necessities in my book bag, then following my mom to the car.

"you ready for your first day?" she asked me. to be real, i think i made a bad first impression because we was already late, but i wasn't gone let that ruin the day already.
"i'm a little nervous, but i think it'll be okay because ray finna be there." i spoke truthfully.
"okay thats good then, and you already know that if a bitch try you-" she started.
"yes mom, i know. you don't have to tell me every time i go to a new school." i said stopping her.
"alright then, i'm just making sure now." she said putting her hands up.
