It's been 2 weeks without Evelyn. Harry has been avoiding talking about her. He had a weird feeling each time someone said her name or asked about her.
"Harry you need to open up to us. What's going on in your head?" Ron asked. "I've never seen you more stressed before. Not even after confronting You-Know-Who. Not even after all your fights with your aunt and uncle, what's going on?"
"It's obvious this is about Evelyn, Ron. I know you're stupid but not this much." Hermione said and Harry couldn't care less if they started fighting again.
"Wow, hey, how could you-"
"Oh Ron for Merlin's sake! Harry is worried. Even if he doesn't want to say it, he is worried. We haven't heard anything from Evelyn in two weeks. Haven't you seen Steph lately?"
It was true, Steph has been worse than Harry. Sometimes Harry thinks Steph is going to look for Evelyn, he's not sure what's stopping her from doing it. If he wasn't as stubborn as he was, he would've of tried contacting her ages ago, but he wanted to make a point.
"Wait, Harry, if you are as worried as I think you are, why haven't you tried to speak to Evelyn through your mind connection or whatever?" Hermione asked.
"That's not important right now, is it? I may not have the book of potions with me, but Dumbledore still left me an important mission. Now that Evelyn is not here, I may actually have a chance of accomplishing it." Harry said his thoughts outloud, knowing full well they were all lies. But he needed a distraction and maybe following Dumbledore's mission might help with that.
"Are you talking about professor Slughorn? Because you'll need a lot of luck for that to work out after my incident." Ron said, but that might just be it.
"Luck. That's exactly what I need." Harry said as he went running to his dormitory, Hermione and Ron having no idea what he was talking about but following him anyway.
"Luck potion, that's what I need." Harry said as they made it to his dormitory, taking out the small luck potion he has been saving for a special moment and this was it. This is why he needs it.
"But you still need a plan first-" Hermione said.
"Since when have we ever had a plan? We just roll with it. I'll just go to professor Slughorn and see how it goes." Harry said as he drank it. It didn't taste like anything but he could immedately feel it.
This is going to work out.
***
Everything happened so fast in Harry's eyes. He succeeded in having professor Slughorn's memory. He saw it with Dumbledore and everything somehow made sense now.Voldemort has been around for so long because he has torn his life into 7 pieces. It's gonna be difficult to destroy him, but he has to. There's no other way.
"So that's where you've been to? When you leave school?" Harry asked Dumbledore. Guessing he has been searching for the horcruxes.
"Yes. I think I know where the other one is, but it is a very dangerous place and I'm afraid I cannot destroy it alone." He said to him. "I'm gonna need your help Harry, but you must do as I say. If I tell you to run, you run, if I tell you to hide, you hide, if I tell you to leave me there and abandon me to safe yourself, you will."
Harry knew deep in his heart he wouldn't do it, but Dumbledore didn't need to know that. "You're word Harry."
"Yes sir."

After a very hard mission, the hardest he has been to, Harry and Dumbledore made it back to Hogwarts but Dumbledore was not okay. "We have to go to Madam Pomfrey immediately." Harry said as he helped Dumbledore sit down.
"No- no, call Snape. Tell him what happened. Call Severus Harry, tell him everything." Harry nodded and was about to leave when they knew they were not alone. "Go down Harry and stay there." Dumbledore told him and although he wanted to stay right there, he listened.
***
He saw everything happening and hated himself the moment Snape killed Dumbledore. He should've done something. And now it was too late.
He went after Snape, tried to fight him but the words that left Snape's mouth was what shocked him the most "yes, I'm the half blood prince."
Harry was not able to process that information. Not even after he went back to the castle and saw Dumbledore's body on the floor and all students watching the scene. Not even after Hermione came towards him and hugged him, letting him cry as much as needed.
She knew how much Dumbledore meant to him. He saved his life after all but she didn't knew the details of how it happened like he did. She wasn't there when it happened.
He wished he wasn't there. He wished he could take off that memory because he knew it was going to hunt him. And although he was in physical pain from the battle he just had with Snape, nothing hurts more than his heart.
In that moment, he wished Evelyn was there instead of Hermione. Was Evelyn feeling his pain? Was she worried about him?
Harry, I'm here for you.
He suddenly heard in his mind and knew it was Evelyn contacting him.
Evelyn? Where have you been? Why didn't you say anything before leaving? Where are you?-
I don't have much time Harry. I can't answer all your questions, just- know that I'm okay.
I need you here. Why aren't you here?
I can't exactly leave... but just know that I'm here for you. Even when you think I'm not. I'm always here.
Do you know what happened?
I know.
In that moment, Harry knew she was not okay. How would she know? The only explanation to that is she's with him.
She's with Voldemort.
