Khi had found an old abandoned apartment and set camp up there.

Well, there was no camp for her to set up since she has nothing except for the hoodie skater jeans and converse she was wearing and her suit she used for missions that she stashed away in a sinch sack that she stashed in one of the broken floorboards.

The next morning, she decided to go out and buy a few things with what little money she had left from her recent kill.

She climbed out of the window and down the fire escape back into the alleyway, she didn't want to use the front door and alert anyone that may live there of a squatter. She slid down the ladder and slide down it as it clunked onto the ground.

She peeped her head out of the alleyway checking around for anyone that might seem suspicious.

She pulls her hood and turns out onto the street to the right until she stops in front of a shop.

Delmar's deli and grocery.

Seemed good enough.

She walked in and kept her hood on walking through some aisles grabbing two bags of chips two bottles of water a loaf of bread peanut butter and jelly as well as a box of cookies.

She walked to the front of the store and placed down the items on the counter in front of the cashier.

"Welcome to Delmar's!" He had a thick New York, "D'you find everything alright?"

"Mhm." she muttered rummaging through her pockets to dig out the little money she had left.

"How will you be paying?"

"Uhm, cash?" She answered hesitantly confused at the question. What were the other options?

"Ok, your total comes up to $34.28." He punches numbers into the register while she reaches into her wallet and grabs two twenties.

She hands it to the man who grabbed it gently opening the register placing the two twenties in and handing back $5.72. Damn why was America so fucking expensive?

"Thanks." She stuffs the money back into her wallet and shoves her wallet into her hoodies pocket.

"Here you are," He hands her a bag, "Hey! If you wanted, I could trade that last little bit for a footlong? Any type."

She stops and thinks. She could buy it and save some pieces for a few days.

"Sure." She rasps out pulling back out her wallet and handing the cash to the man, she was definitely going to regret that but she was hungrier than a pack of wolves and she didn't really feel like eating a pb and j sandwich like she was going to have to for the next little while until she could find some more work.

"Alright, what would you like?" He pats the counter.

"Uhm, one Italian no tomato, light lettuce, mayo and oil and vinegar." She rushes out looking at the menu.

"One Italian coming up."

She nods her head still pointed at the ground and walks to the other end of the counter as the man walks to the back handing a worker her order. She zones out for about 7 minutes before the sub smacks down on the counter.

She looks up and reaches for the sub placing it in the bag that also held her food.

"Are you new around here?" Delmar's accent was thick and laced with confusion.

She thinks for a moment before deciding its best if she lied.

She shakes her head pursing her lips.

"Oh, well you seem new. Haven't ever seen you around before. You Italian?"

She shakes her head confused.

Was it normal for people in America to assume where you're from?

"Huh, weird you seem Italian, you remind me a lot of my little sister when she was younger, long black hair, green eyes and lightly tanned skin." He shrugs drumming the counter walking back to the counter to attend another customer.

"Hey Peter!" Delmar's voice booms.

"Hey Mr. Delmar!" She knows that voice.

She looks up, it was that brown haired kid that was friends with frosted tips.

He orders and looks over at Khi who stood with her hood draped over her head casting a shadow making her look like she was going to murder someone.

His eyes widen slightly at the stranger standing ominously in the shadows before he smiles at her.

She looks away breaking herself out of her shook and darts out of the deli, the door slamming behind her with a ding.

A/N: Sorry this one is so short! I pre-wrote about 7 of the chapters in word before transferring it over here so I'm not entirely sure how long each chapter is. Anyways thank you so much for reading!
