This oneshot partially dependent on a headcanon we have btw so I'ma just share that here first so you don't get confused!

Pretty much we headcanon the Red Steves to have a 'core' in their bodies which stores their fire. They use this fire to summon fireballs and keep their bodies warm. They can also breathe small bursts of flame but usually do not do this as if they do it too much they can end up with burns around/in their mouth and throat.

Headcanon over, enjoy the oneshot!!

"We are here!"

The Winter Steve called out as we finally reached land. I threw myself onto the shore, instantly regretting it as the cold from the snow begins to seep through my clothes. I yelp and quickly scramble to get back up, my new acquaintance chuckling at me from behind a furred hand.

"Come on," He begins in that strange accent of his, "The village is north of here. We will need to make a start if we wish to make it by night." He walks over and grabs my wrist, tugging a little on my sleeve in the direction I assume is north. I would have to trust him, having dropped my compass in the ocean after slipping on the ice we walked on to get here.

"I can walk without you tugging on me!" I say, taking a couple of steps further into the snow, beginning to follow him into a cold plains biome.

"Apologies, friend." He says, a small smile on his face, "You are small like child, I do not want you to get separated." He chuckles at me.

I huff in indignation as I trail behind him,
"I am not that small! I am average height for a Red Steve, thank you very much!" I exclaim. I really hope not all Winter Steves are as tall as this one, I deal with enough height jokes from Beef as it is.

"I do not mean to offend!" He says, throwing his forearms up a little, "You are small for us. I worry and wish for you to not get lost." At least he's looking out for me, I guess? I look up at Winter again, noticing that he's put a little bit of distance between me and him. I quicken my pace slightly, struggling in the snow a bit to catch up.

"If you- Don't want me to get lost, maybe slow down a bit.?" I huff, slightly pleading with him. He looks back at me again, eyes widening.

"OH- I am sorry! I did not notice-" He starts to apologise as he snags my sleeve again. I don't protest this time as he pulls me closer to him. The wind has picked up and I may as well use him as a windbreak. He either does not notice or does not care about the wind. He continues muttering something under his breath in another language.

"It's alright." I mutter pressing a bit into his side, trying to better hide from the wind as it bats at my clothes. I shiver in the cold as I regret not getting a hooded outfit like Beef. I seem to be doing a lot of that lately. Regretting.
