I'm not that kind of talent - Deon Hart x Demon King & Emperor

Chapter 2

The smile on Deon's face made Ed anxious- it was what he looked like when he was drunk.

"My lord, have you had any alcohol in the past 24 hours?" 

Deon blinked at him "no? Why on Earth are you asking that?"

Ed smiled awkwardly but didn't answer, it irritated Deon, but he would never speak up about a demon annoying him. How would he? That's a literal demon! 

"What does being drunk have to do with this?" 

Ed blinked at him, "I was wondering if you have the same drinking habits in the human realm, or you just take your anger out on us demons. But that might be why the emperor gave me to you so easily.."

Deon shook his head. "It's because he-" he cut himself off. How would he say that to his second in command? 'Oh yeah, I slept with the emperor. Oh yeah, OUR ENEMY!! He would never say that, even if he was tortured, although he'd probably die before they could actually question him, with his weak body. 

But if Demons knew what he was doing with their enemy- they'd off him on the spot!

He shook his head at the thought and turned away from Ed. Ed took this as ending the conversation so he looked away as well. If his commander didn't want to speak any more; they wouldn't speak.

In reality, Deon looked away to hide the blush on his face after thinking of what unholy things him and the emperor had down only a few nights ago. 

He looked back after a few minutes to continue speaking with Ed, but the Demon had also turned away to look out the window with a sulk on his face- he wasn't told why the emperor let him go so easily.

The rest of the ride was quiet, until shouting and the clanging of swords was heard. Ed, who this had never happend to before, was immediately put into high alert- demons are so scary. He pulled back the curtain to the window next to him, it just happend at that moment blood hit the window. It made Ed jump and he stood up quickly to look at what was going on. 

He saw people fighting like beasts in white- now red uniforms. 

A voice behind him.

"They're the lofty knights" he sat with his arms crossed and his eyes closed as he spoke. Also a small smile that didn't go unnoticed by Ed. 

"Remember told me to bring them because of what happend."

Ed raised an eyebrow "are they yours? They fight well." 

Deon sighed and opens his eyes "the emperor forced me to take them back because apparently I'm the only one they listen too. So much for great, amazing ruler. He couldn't even handle a group of men." 

Ed smiled widely "that's good!" He was quiet again however when Deon shot him and unimpressed stare.

Back in the palace Cruel stepped in. He was called in without Duke Illuster. 

The emperor spoke "did you know I previously spoke to Deon Hart? Your brother."

Cruel nodded, thinking back to the carriage he had just seen disappearing. 

"Did you see the man he was with?" 

He blinked, "what?" He thought back, he could only see light hairs colours going into the carriage. And that was obviously Deon with his pure white hair. But wait. Deon has pure white hair, there was a bit of blonde hair. That's not white. "Was there a man with blonde hair?"

It looked as if Deon was pushing someone into the carriage. Who?

"Did you give him a new lofty knight?" 

The emperor laughed, "I'll never be able to create a soldier as good as a lofty knight, only Deon Hart and a war can create men that crazy." 

Cruel nodded silently, his baby brother did a good job in creating a group to protect him, they should protect him from the attackers the Duke sent for him. 

He's too weak by himself, but it makes him more assured having people like that around him. Even the emperor favoured Deon Hart. Duke Illuster would have to face the wrath of him to get to his brother.

But didn't they use drugs? What if they attacked Deon one day?

"How did the lofty knights get the drugs in war?" 

The emperor smiled, but didn't laugh this time. "War makes you mad enough, no need for any drugs that make you lose rationality."
