Riley's pov
I'm just talking with Kate Because I just accepted her offer to letting me run the next step. It was a really hard decision to make because I thought I wouldn't been able to run it. After talking to James about it and he said "it's the best opportunity ever and if I could I would run it" After talking to James I knew what I had to do.
"Riley, I'm so proud you for coming this far.
I know that you would make a great studio head. And I'm so proud of you and James, make sure you make each other happy In life"Kate said, basically crying happy tears and making me happy tears cry too. "Aww thank you for being the best teacher that I could ever ask for" i said, with tears streaming down my face. Kate walks over to me and gives me a tight hug.
After me and Kate pull away for our hug which lasted about 15 seconds. "Let's just say this isn't a goodbye it's I'll see you soon" Kate sniffles.
"I'll see you soon Kate" I answered, as she walks out of my office and out of the studio.
Me moving up to the big chair. Wow. Never would I believe that I would be running the studio. I'm guessing my years of dancing has lead me to this moment. James on the other hand chose this year to focus more on the band so he's not on A-troupe this year. I don't blame him for choosing band because that's his dream ever since he was a little boy. A part of me feels a bit sad that he had left dance because dance is our thing we had in common.
"So how's it going" I hear a familiar voice chuckled. I spun around in my chair and saw James leaning against the doorframe of my office, I smiled to myself. "It's great. I never expected this though" i said, as I stare at James for a moment and just think about everything we have been through together like our ups and downs, our dance life and how we've been together for just 4 years. No one could ever take away what we have.
"Aww but your gonna do great at this" James said, supporting me. I stand up and walk over to him and wrap my arms around his waist, as James wraps his arms around my waist and I let the side of my head rest on his chest.
"If your ever struggling with this, you know I'm a call away. Even if Im at band practice I'll be right here if you need me" James said, as he kinda makes me wanna tear up. "I love you" I mumbled, against his chest. "And I'll even come to regionals with you" he added. He's so sweet, caring and more. "Thank you sweetheart" i replied, hugging him tighter.
10 minutes later, while me and James are in my office just drinking our drinks we got java junction and talking about things, like talking about us. "I'm sorry baby but I've got to go back to band practice now" James spoke, sounding a bit disappointed. I roll my eyes, as James laughs at how clingy I am to him. "But don't I'll be back soon and then we can go home together" he suggests, as I nod. "I love you" I said, kissing him on the lips. "I love you too babe" he replied, as he walks out of my office and walks to band.
Rehearsals don't start until tomorrow. So the studio is open for the dancers who want to do dance practice and whatever. So I decided to message Michelle to see if she's at the studio and want to hang out in Java junction, while I wait for James.
Riley: hey Michelle are you at the studio? Do you wanna hang out in Java junction x
Michelle: hey yeah I am! I'm with Amanda in Java junction x
Riley: ok I'll come and see your girls now ❤️
I put my phone back in my pocket and started walking to Java junction. "Heyyy girlys" I giggled as I walk up to the table where the girls are at and I sit down with them. "Hey miss Riley" Michelle said, jokingly. As I roll my eyes.
"Don't call me that, it makes me feel old" I laughed, as they both do too. "So how is being studio" Amanda asked, taking a sip of her juice.
"It's ok, but doesn't feel like I'm running the studio. But tomorrow will because that's when rehearsals start" I say honestly.
"Mmh, and how's James" Michelle asked.
"He's good, he's with the band at the moment but I wish he could be on the team with you guys" i say, feeling a bit sad. But if James wants to be with the band then it's what makes him happy and if he's happy then I'm happy for him. "But don't worry ri we are always here"Amanda smiles, as Michelle agrees, as I look that them and smile.
James: baby where are you? I'm in studio A and I'll take us home now xxxx
Riley: huh? I thought you had band for a bit longer xxxx
James: I left earlier because I missed you 🥺xxxx
Riley: aww your so cute babe but I'm in Java junction with Michelle and Amanda but I'll come to you now xxxx
James: ok baby xxxx
"Guys i gotta go. James is taking me and him home but Michelle do you mind locking up and opening the studio in the morning if I give you the keys" I asked politely. As she nods so I take the keys out my pocket and give them to Michelle. "Thank you so much and bye guys" i said, as they both replied with "bye Riley".
I leave Java junction and walk towards studio A. When I get there I see James leaning against the door of the studio, on his phone. He looks up and smiles when he sees me. James walks over to me and wraps his arms around me. "What took you long baby" James mumbles against my neck. Which sends shivers down my spin. "Oh I gave Michelle the keys to the studio and asked her to lock up" i replied, with my arms wrapped around his neck.
*later on and James and Riley's house*
James's pov
It was around 5 o'clock when me and Riley got home. We decided to both decide to chill upstairs because we both need an early night because we both have to be up early in the morning because when Rehearsals starts and when my band practice starts. So we decided to get comfy in bed, get a few snacks with the tv on in the background and just lay down and talk.
"So it's my baby's first proper day at work tomorrow" i say, while I wrap my arm around Riley. I move her closer to me so she's laying on her side then she rests her head on my chest. "Yea it is, quite nervous about it through" Riley replied, sounding a bit nervous.
"Don't worry because my baby will have her baby keep coming to check on her when he's on his break from his band" i say, cutely. Riley starts laughing. "Ahhh your so funny Jay" she giggles, as I smile to myself.
Honestly words cannot describe how much I'm so proud of this girl. She's had many's of struggles in life and has managed to suck it up and keep carrying on. Throughout these 4 years of dating her, she has made me the happiest man ever. Riley has seen me at my happiest times and the most saddest times and i appreciate her there. Right there. Right there whenever I need her. That's why I love her.
Ignore how bad this whole chapter. But it will get better... hopefully but probably not 😭
