Light stood behind L when he was doing research, Lights father and the others were sent home by L but Light chose to stay which L thought was a little strange but he just left it as it was and smiled while researching.
"Light, could you get me some tea please?" L asked Light politely.
"You never stop drinking tea" Light looked at L and sighed as he got him some tea.
L just happily drinking his tea after putting multiple sugar cubes in his tea, getting back to his research and investigating, he started to get a little tired as it was very late and L told Light to go home for the night and he smiled.
"You okay on your own?" Light said raising an eyebrow.
"I'll be fine Light you can head home now" L said with a smirk.
Light sighed and nodded as he put on his coat and left the building, heading home where his mother waited for him. Light went and ate his dinner and then walked up to his room and closed the door behind him, Ryuk, the shinigami that had recently started living with Light was laying on the bed and chuckled while eating an apple.
"You came home late today Light" Ryuk said.
"Ryuzaki told me to stay late tonight, so I had to" Light said and sighed as he looked at Ryuk.
Ryuk laughed as he looked at Light and he stood up, his arms hanging low like usual.
"Well then I better let you get some sleep then Light" Ryuk said.
"Yeah yeah" Light said as he walked over to the bed and fell asleep soundly.
The next morning Light took the day off to get school work done and he yawned tiredly from being up late the other night.
"I should have went to sleep earlier last night" Light said with a yawn.
Ryuk just laid on the bed eating a bowl of apples like he usually did everyday. Light kept working on his school work and he got the highest mark out of the class like he usually did.
Light sighed as he laid on his bed looking very bored and he looked up at the ceiling with a blank expression on his face and he fell asleep once again, Ryuk just standing in the corner as he slept.
