Josuke and Okuyasu started their exploration of Kastoria early in the day, weaving through cobbled streets and the small squares that made the town feel so picturesque. The old, stone buildings and blue lake that framed the town gave it an air of tranquility.
As they wandered, Okuyasu pointed out random stores and sights. "Yo, Josuke, check it out! A shoe store! Bet they got some high-end Greek sandals."
Josuke smirked, glancing over at the sandals displayed in the window. "Yeah, but are you really gonna walk around Greece in sandals, Oku? We're not here for a vacation; we gotta be ready for action at any moment!"
Okuyasu puffed out his chest, feigning importance. "True, true. Gotta be like, y'know, tactical and stuff. But I heard sandals improve airflow to your toes, and I bet Dio's guys weren't ready for sandal-style combat."
Josuke rolled his eyes, chuckling. "Yeah, pretty sure that's exactly why Jotaro said we'd need you on this mission. Tactical sandal-wearing. Next thing I know, you'll be asking for a toga."
They both laughed as they walked up a small hill, which offered a view of the lake stretching out with boats slowly making their way across. The bright reflection of the sun on the water almost made it look like it was sparkling.
Okuyasu suddenly leaned over the railing, admiring the boats. "I've been thinking, Josuke... If we find any gold coins or treasure chests in some secret cave during this whole adventure, we should definitely take them back."
Josuke gave him an incredulous look. "Treasure chests? What do you think this is, some pirate movie? Besides, we're not here for treasure hunting; we're trying to track down dangerous Stand users, remember? Not get rich."
Okuyasu crossed his arms and nodded with exaggerated seriousness. "Right, right, dangerous Stand users, not gold... But... if we accidentally find gold along the way... You know, it wouldn't hurt."
Josuke sighed, shaking his head but grinning all the same. "If we find any gold, I'll let you wear it around your neck like some fancy pirate, but until then, just try to stay focused, alright?"
"Deal!" Okuyasu said, clearly pleased with the compromise. He paused and gestured to a stand selling a variety of trinkets and ornaments. "Hey, let's get matching keychains to remember Greece by."
Josuke burst into laughter. "Matching keychains? Dude, are you planning on turning this into a friendship scrapbook or something?"
"It's about the memories, Josuke!" Okuyasu said, nodding fervently. "Think about it, one day we'll be old and telling our kids about how we busted up some cultists in Greece. Keychains make it legit."
They continued their walk, eventually stopping at a square where they found a small café. As they settled into a table under a shady umbrella, they caught the sound of two locals, a man and a woman, chatting a few tables over. The conversation was in Greek, but a few words stood out, words that piqued Josuke's interest — something about a "monastery" and "strange visitors."
Josuke leaned over to Okuyasu, lowering his voice. "Hey, you catch that? Something about strange visitors at a monastery?"
Okuyasu perked up, trying to eavesdrop further but clearly struggling. "Uh, yeah... I think? What're they saying now?"
Josuke decided to act instead of listen further. He got up and walked over to the two locals, putting on his best tourist smile. "Hi, sorry to bother you guys. My friend and I are visiting from Japan, and we couldn't help but hear about the monastery. We're interested in local legends, anything you could tell us?"
The locals looked at each other, hesitant. The woman leaned forward slightly, her eyes wary. "Why do you want to know about that place?" "It's dangerous. No tourists allowed."
