been a few months since Ishan publicly came out about his relationship with shubman. The media frenzy has calmed down, but the occasional headlines and attention still linger. Ishan’s cricket career is booming, and shubman has been thriving in his medical practice. Yet, the demands of their professional lives sometimes pull them in different directions.
---
Setting: ishan’s Apartment, Late Night
Ishan walks in, tired after a long day of practice, while shubman is sitting on the couch, reviewing medical charts on his tablet. The room is dimly lit, and the atmosphere feels slightly distant—both of them exhausted from their hectic schedules.
Ishan: (dropping his bag) “Long day?”
Shubman: (without looking up) “Yeah, had a few difficult cases. You?”
Ishan: (sighing) “Same. I’m wiped out.”
(Ishan collapses on the couch next to shubman, his head resting on the backrest. They sit in silence for a moment, neither fully engaging, the stress of the day weighing heavily on them.)
Ishan: “We don’t get to see each other much these days, huh?”
(Shubman glances at him, the fatigue evident in his eyes. He sets the tablet aside, realizing ishan is right.)
Shubman: “Yeah… it’s been tough. Between your training and my shifts, it feels like we’re living parallel lives.”
(Ishan turns to face shubman, concern creeping into his expression.)
Ishan: “I don’t like it. I miss you.”
(Shubman’s face softens. He moves closer, taking ishan’s hand in his.)
Shubman: “I miss you too. But this is just a phase, right? We’re both just busy… it’ll get better.”
Ishan: (frowning slightly) “I know. But I don’t want us to lose what we have because of our jobs.”
(Shubman looks at ishan seriously, sensing the deeper worry in his words.)
Shubman: “We won’t, ishan. We’ve been through too much to let that happen. We’ll make time for each other, no matter what.”
Ishan: (nodding) “You’re right. I just don’t want us to drift apart. What we have… it’s everything to me.”
(Shubman smiles gently, leaning in to kiss ishan’s forehead.)
Shubman: “We won’t drift apart. I promise.”
(Ishan relaxes a little, their hands still intertwined. The tension of the day starts to melt away.)
Shubman: (playfully) “So, how about a date night this weekend? Just us, no distractions. We can go somewhere quiet, away from all this.”
Ishan: (grinning) “Sounds perfect. I’ll hold you to that, Doctor.”
