CHAPTER 8

"I like you."

"..."

There was a long silence for a good five minutes between the two of them, until when Logan was about to open his mouth, Y/n quickly slammed the door of the wardrobe shut as she walked away.

"Oh look at the time, it's almost dawn..." she trails off, dashing away when the wardrobe is reopened, attempting to let off what she just confessed.

Y/n jolted when heavy footsteps were heard from behind and Logan was already approaching her with a stoic expression, while she just stood there awkwardly, backing him.

"Kid."

"..."

"Kid."

"What? I'm not running away anymore."

"Good, let's go home then, now." He walked past her as Y/n was dumbfounded, she thought Logan would talk about what she just said, but he just brushed it off.

Y/n followed him behind as he went to the back of the cabin where he broke through, taking his leather jacket and then throwing something at her as she caught a small fur creature.

"What the— You just did not throw Pabu!"

"Pukyuu!!" The squirrel instead happily hugged Y/n's hand, glad that he finally reunited with her again after so long.

"I missed you too, Pabu." Y/n said while nuzzling him on her cheek.

Logan saw the two interacct as he chuckled a little, although he was still thinking about what Y/n confessed earlier, obviously he was not dumb.

"So, what's with the 'i like you' all about?"

Y/n choked on the water bottle she was drinking as she coughs, Logan's making her in a whiplash for real, she didn't think he would bring it up after he brushed it off earlier.

Logan already had his eyes on her while she looked anywhere except his gaze, "Um..."

"Since when?" he asked and took a step closer making Y/n automatically backed away.

"Y-You don't have to know."

"Now I know you do like me."

"It's not like I told you our feelings will be the same anyway." Y/n casually say it with a sarcastic tone as Logan froze.

"What?"

"You love Jean, we talked about it ever since we moved in." Y/n pointed it out as a reminder.

"If you knew that then why do you still feel that way about me?" he asked, but didn't understand.

Y/n sigh, "I should ask you the same thing, you know Jean is in the middle of something with Scott, when you saw it, why do you still love her huh?"

Logan was taken aback, as if he was eaten by his own question earlier, simplifying that the two are in the same boat here but he doesn't have any clue that Y/n see him in that way.

"Kid, I'm sorry I—"

"Nah, don't be. Besides, I just want to let you know that and your reaction would be, that's enough for me." Y/n chuckled and looked down, obviously for the wolverine he knew she was broken by his response.

Y/n slowly walk away, making Logan halt. "Where are you going? Don't run away again."

"I won't! We're going back to the mansion right? Come on." Y/n casually walks out of the cabin as she looks at the night sky that the storm finally ends and is removed by constellation stars.

"Wow..." she mumbled, never seeing stars before but soon enough Y/n frozen in place when Logan suddenly approached from behind, his body nearly behind hers, she could feel his breath even though the two of them were not making contact.
