EPISODE 9 // RAIN ON YOUR CHARADE.

It was quiet. Uncannily quiet. It felt wrong, not knowing where MePhone was. Sure, all of the contestants had managed the previous challenges without their beloved host, but they knew where he was then. Most of the objects had gone off to do their own things, as MePad and Toilet had no real planning for an episode by themselves again. So instead the two assistants, now temporary hosts, tasked them all with doing something elsewhere whilst they counted the elimination votes.

Suitcase was sat at the docks, dangling her feet over the edge and staring with wide eyes at the reflection of herself in the rippling waves of the water beneath her. She was... hurt. The fact that her so-called 'alliance' forced her to do something way too far out of her comfort zone had left her questioning how much they cared. She knew Baseball tried his best to help, but he just made it worse. Speak of the devil, he approached behind her, wearing a forced look of sympathy and guilt.

He tried to reconcile with her, and convince her that Nickel just 'believes in them' and has 'high standards.'

But she wasn't hearing it and just waited for him to walk off.

---------

Eventually, he does, and the girl gets up, once she is sure he has left and won't follow her. She made her way along a gravelled pathway, meandering with purpose through the tall oaks and bushes, until she stopped dead in her tracks as she began to walk onto a cliff side. She had spotted Balloon.

She had always liked Balloon, because he understood her, and so did she. She waved, or as much as someone with only legs can, and walked slowly up to him. He appeared equally as unhappy as her, which was nice, in a strange way. Because she wasn't alone in her sorrows. She glances around, the view indescribably beautiful. You could see everything from up here, the emerald forests, the grassy plains, the snow-peaked mountains in the far distance; everything.

The balloon didn't acknowledge her, but she knew he was listening, as she remarked, the awe evident in her medium-pitched voice,

"This place... is beautiful!"

There was a long moment of silence, as Balloon makes a half-turn to face her, wearing a somewhat solemn expression. Appearing melancholy, he sighed, replying quietly,

"Up here, everything's below us. And we don't need the approval of others. Plus, the sunset's nice."

"Yeah! Solid 8 out of 10, would watch again."

Suitcase responded enthusiastically, her expression shifting into a satisfied grin. That was, until, something hit her.

Approval? That didn't sound very like you, knowing how much you were never one to be desperate for validation.

"Wait, approval? That sounded a little off."

Suitcase continued, her tone expressing her confusion over what he was trying to imply with the latter of your statement. She turned a little more, noticing how he had gritted his teeth and seemed almost angered by either the comment or something else.

"Oh, trust me, there was a time I thought I needed their approval."

He snapped, though not intending to be hurtful or rude, just frustrated by the thought of how his past self had tried so hard to gain the approval of others, even if all he had done: manipulating, being nasty, and etcetera was a facade to help him try and win the first season of the show. He began to explain how he had tried and tried to get OJ to let him into the hotel, but failed miserably time and time again. Taut with emotion, he goes on a bit of a tangent, going into much detail on the time he had gone out of his way to write a script so he wouldn't say anything that'd hurt OJ or would ruin his desperate attempts at being allowed in.
