Chapter 1

It was over. The fight with the Black Organization, the fight between the evil and the good was over. The good won again as it always did and the evils were punished. Everyone's life went back to normal.

Kudo Shinichi was back to his old self and was not Edogawa Conan anymore. He was now 23. Akai Shuuichi resumed his activities as an FBI. Furuya Rei was no longer Bourbon or Amuro Tooru and resumed his activities with the PSB normally. Kaitou Kid got his hands on Pandora and the organization behind it was caught for good. Kuroba Kaito and Shinichi revealed their truth to their respective childhood friends Nakamori Aoko and Mouri Ran. And last but not the least, Haibara Ai was back to Miyano Shiho and she was 24 now. She successfully made the antidote with the help of documents she found at the organization's hideout. Everything was over but for Haibara it was a start of new life.

She refused to use her real name because she had nothing as Miyano Shiho but as Haibara Ai she got almost a new life thanks to Professor Agasa, she got friends which she never had. But she was lonely, lonelier than she was before. She wondered where she belonged, she wondered who she was and what she is supposed to be. She would stay all alone rather than going out and do something she was scared to do because of the organization. But she would rather lock herself and listen to music or read novels all alone. Her conversations with Shinichi had gotten smaller and simpler than before. She would not interfere in his cases anymore. She was trying to distance herself from him, but her feelings for him were not disappearing.

The doorbell rang interrupting her reading time. She stood up and opened the door. It was Shinichi. She sighed and turned her face away.

"Hey, that's not the face one should do when their best friend comes!" Shinichi said as he entered.

"Hai hai!" she got immersed in her novel again.

"Miyano!" he called her.

She ignored.

"Shiho!"

She ignored again.

"What's wrong with you?" sometimes even he could not understand her. She was the most difficult case for him.

"Nothing!" she replied coldly.

"I was talking to you!"

"How many times should I tell you then, I'm Haibara Ai and not Miyano Shiho!" she stated coldly.

"Stop kidding okay!" he held her hand as he stood up, "Why aren't you happy about being back to your old body?"

She stood up, "Because I've nothing left as Miyano Shiho! As for Haibara Ai, she has got a family, she has got friends. What does Miyano Shiho have now? Nothing but despair!" she almost yelled.

"Miyano Shiho, you have survived that organization, you're alive, isn't that enough?" he said.

"It's easy to say Kudo-kun!" she looked down as she replied calmly. But her voice was sad.

"I know, I can understand, Miyano! But-"

"What do you know about me, Kudo-kun? What do you even know about Miyano Shiho!" she yelled as she fought back the tears and starred at him.

His grip on her hand loosened. She was right, he had no clue of her struggle when was in the organization. But whatever he was thinking about her was for her own sake.

"It's easy for you to say Kudo-kun! You've got a family, you've a girlfriend who loves you, you've got what you want to do. Miyano Shiho has lost everything!" she said calmy before walking away to her room.

Sadly, he walked out of the house. He wanted to do something for her. After all these years, she was always there for him.

"Kudo-kun?" he looked up and saw Furuya Rei waving at him.
