Shubman's fingers moved swiftly, adjusting the camera settings as he captured the joyous moments of the wedding party. The bridesmaids' laughter echoed through the hall, their vibrant dresses radiant under the soft lighting. Shubman's trained eye scanned the room, seeking the perfect shot.
Ishan hovered nearby, his presence a constant reminder of the tension between them. "Can you please move to the left?" Ishan instructed, his voice tight with impatience. "The lighting is better there."
Shubman raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement dancing on his lips. "I know what I'm doing, Ishan. Relax." He adjusted the camera lens, framing the shot.
Ishan's eyes narrowed, his expression disapproving. "I'm paying you to do a job, not to get creative."
Shubman's smile faltered for a moment before he recovered. "You know, Ishan, you're not exactly the most pleasant person to work with." He snapped a photo, capturing the bridesmaids' giggles.
Ishan's expression turned icy. "I'm not here to make friends. I'm here to ensure this wedding is perfect."
As the night wore on, their tension escalated. Shubman began to wonder how someone so handsome could be so infuriating. Ishan's sharp jawline and piercing eyes seemed chiseled from granite, but his demeanor was colder than the marble floors.
During a brief break, Shubman retreated to the bar, ordering another drink. The bartender, a friendly woman with a warm smile, asked about his night. Shubman shared a brief anecdote about Ishan's demanding nature, and she chuckled knowingly.
Just then, Ishan appeared beside him, his presence radiating disapproval. "Drinking on the job?" Ishan asked, his tone dripping with disdain.
Shubman shrugged, taking a sip of his drink. "Just unwinding. You should try it."
Ishan's gaze lingered on Shubman's face, his eyes searching for something. For a fleeting moment, Shubman saw a glimmer of vulnerability behind Ishan's icy facade.
"I have work to do," Ishan said abruptly, turning away.
Shubman watched him go, intrigued by the glimpse of humanity he'd seen.
_Later that night..._
As Shubman packed up his equipment, exhaustion creeping in, Ishan approached, his expression softer.
"Look, Shubman, I know we didn't get off to a great start," Ishan said, his voice low and measured. "But I appreciate your work. You're talented."
Shubman's surprise turned to curiosity. "Thanks, Ishan. Maybe we can start fresh tomorrow."
Ishan nodded, a hint of a smile on his lips. "Maybe."
As they parted ways, Shubman wondered if there was more to Ishan than met the eye. Was Ishan's tough exterior a shield, protecting a more vulnerable soul?
Shubman's mind whirled with questions, but one thing was certain – he wanted to uncover the truth behind Ishan's enigmatic gaze.
