~Station 19~Maya Bishop/Carina DeLuca (mentioned)/Diane Lewis

Maya Bishop SAYS that she is at peace with the reality that her fate is now sealed due to her attempt to blackmail the Chief of Seattle Fire. Can she be at peace with making amends to those she has harmed and taking a shot at repairing her marriage?

Cursing and angst.

MB=MAYA BISHOP

DL= DIANE LEWIS

MB: If I were to say that I've thought about leaving Seattle what would be your response?

DL: That's up to you, wouldn't you say? That is...yours and Dr. DeLuca's.

MB: That's to be determined (and she chuckled).

DL: No joy then? You ARE meeting the requirements she set in order to reconcile?

MB (in a near whisper): TBD...To Be Announced; I'm back in the condo. Separate bedrooms.

DL: I wonder if you're fine with the situation or if it's more of a waiting game. Have either of you attempted intimacy?

MB: Last weekend...she rejected me. I was hurt of course but I'm glad to report that I didn't lash out or say or do anything close to how I might have reacted six months ago. And I realize that even if Carina and I part ways I have to heal emotionally
for the next time.

DL: I like that! That's a very healthy and optimistic way of approaching the future: you could have said 'if' instead of 'when.'

MB: You've helped me so much in that respect. I owe you so much.

DL: All I've done is provide the tools; the work is mostly YOU . I'd say that there is still a ton of work to do, my friend, and a pile of amends as well: GIBSON would be a good start."

Maya said "What I did to Jack...I didn't feel guilty about it until I started therapy with you. After all those years of brainwashing by Lane the Wonderful I suppressed empathy, sympathy, love, and consideration - all normal human responses. I wanted that Captain position that I shunted aside a long-term friendship and a budding relationship as callously as possible. So yeah...Jack is first on the list: right?"

Diane smiles and says "That's up to you but it sounds good. I'd like to know your progress."

"Yeah. Of course."

Jack Gibson tosses aside his work gloves and hands in his trouser pockets he makes his way to the front of the station and out the glass doors; he glances around the area - searching for the 'visitor' Probie had said was waiting for him outside, then "GIBSON!"

He turns to see the 'Gold Medal Liar' waving at him from the shade of the structure. This bitch !" he muses silently and, after hesitating he walks over. "Yeah?" he inquires, in a tone that makes it clear the low level of interest he has in this conversation. "I'm here to ask for your forgiveness, Gibson.I was wrong to push you aside the way that I did when Sullivan offered me the job I...I denied it at the time but you are 1000% correct that my ambition won out. I told Sullivan that Herrera was still grieving the loss of Tanner and that she and YOU brought too much personal baggage into that job. So...I'm very

sorry about that. I get that you probably can't accept my amends now and that's OK."

He stares at her for two or three minutes, then mutters "Maybe one day."

"OK. 'Bye."

When Maya appeared at the door of the home Andy shared with her husband and boss' boss' boss- Robert Sullivan her first instinct was to turn her away: Sullivan is furious with the blonde for her attempt to extort his best friend and SFD Chief Lucas Ripley and her role in sabotaging HER in the completion for Captain of '19'. "Two minutes!" she growled before leading her estranged friend into the living room. "So", the blonde Lieutenant began "We know that
neither of us is 'aces' at apologizing..."

"BAD START!" Andy interrupted.

Relenting, Bishop said "You're right; I'm gonna backtrack: I'm here to make amends for the way I undermined you for Captain, and tried to manipulate Sullivan. I should not have gotten involved with Gibson and also didn't support your decision to marry. That was wrong and I'm sorry."

"Hold on...I'll be right back." A bit later she returned with her husband in tow. "She has something to say to you, Amor," she says, looking to Bishop.

"Um; yes Boss: I was just telling Andy that I owe amends to both of you for my actions: undermining her for Captain, manipulating you to appoint me instead of her - the whole she and Gibson let their private lives interfere with the job thing that I confided to you. AND...for trying to extort the Chief."
The couple step a short distance away, confer, and return to speak with Maya. "Neither of us can guarantee a fast turnaround on accepting your amends.  All that we'll commit to tonight is we'll work toward it," Andy reported.

"That's all I can ask. Thanks for hearing me out. I'll get out of your way."
