Chapter 17

Therese's POV:

January 12, 2025

After the 11 years of my life, I still get to remember the old days when I bond with Darren. Many months, years and dates that have been passed. Christmas, New Years Eve, My Birthday, Valentines.. And, many more. At the moment, I am already 25 years old. And, I would never forget my childhood years.

I never forget it, because, Darren made it the most memorable part of it. I also graduated College now. I studied in The University Of The Philippines. And, My course was Engineering. And, I really need to say that I'm very proud!

Yes, I am single woman. I don't have any, boyfriends or a super close guy-friend. It's just that, I want to spend some time with my family now.

My mom, is kinda sick. She has Pneumonia.. And, each day it gets worse. That's why, I made a choice that, I wanted to take care of my mom at the moment. In the other side, there are some bad things that also happened. Well, my cousin died.. Because, of a car accident. Yeah.

Honestly, I really get a bit 'Jelouse' of my friends, because they have boyfriends now and some of them are married now. Aila, which is my best friend before, got married with Jacob now.

I think Jacob proposed to Aila maybe.. When she was 23?

Now, many things in life changed. The days before when Me and Darren grab some cotton candy in our school fair before, and we eat it together. Those moments when, we use to text silly things.. And, those memories when he just suddenly comes to my room just to say 'I love you' but, everything just turned out to be nothing..

And, I think he is in, London now. That was the latest tweet that I saw. He never unfollowed me in Twitter. Maybe, he doesn't remember me now.

Here is his tweet:

@Darrenespanto: Guys! Thank you for going to my concert in Singapore last wednesday. I was very happy.. And, I would be going to London to continue my concerts by now. That's all for the day guys. Stay happy!

Mom suddenly shouted my name. "Therese, would you please buy me some medicines in the drug store?" Mom asked. "Yes! Sure ma." I replied.

So, I went downstairs and grabbed the money for the medicines and I went to the car. I twisted the keys inside the car and drove.

Since, I'm already 25 years old, I can drive my car already. I can also go where I want now.

Here we are. The store.

I pushed the main door of the drug store. Then, I asked the lady for the medicines what mom needed. I paid for the tablets and all.

"Ms, here is your medicines po." The girl gave the pack of medicines in a plastic bag. "Yes. Thank you.. Ayyy!" I accepted the medicine. But, I accidentally dropped it.

"Ms, are you okay?" He got the medicines and gave it to me. Wait a MINUTE! Shoot! Anak ng kalabaw. Ano ba, I'm not ready for this.

It's him.

"Darren? Wow! So we meet again?!" I said in a weird tune. I've gotta be honest in a bit. He changed.. He is cuter now. And, his eyes we're still the same. The same eyes that I still look at. And, he grew taller!

"Therese." Darren looked sadly.

"I actually taught you we're in London! Right?!" I said. You, know. I know everything I am very aware. Especially about this. Okay..

"Someone hacked my Twitter account. I posted it in Instagram that I didn't really have a concert in South America. I was here in the Philippines all this time." Darren. For a second thought, I just remembered he had IG.

"Can we start over again?" He asked.

"After everything you did to me?" I said.

"Forget the past." Darren.
