Dear playlist,
Could you give me a song,
That doesn't make me sad,
As bittersweet memories fill my head.I want to skip,
But my soul tells me no,
It's a good song,
Let it go on.The intro stumbles along,
Not really sure how to begin,
Just two awkward people,
Trying to feel a silence. The verse takes hold,
And I start to get the song,
It's relatable and kind,
Maybe we can be friends.Repetitious is the chorus,
But it's my favorite part,
Stupid memories strung together,
Suddenly turn to gold.Oh the bridge is coming,
We know the end is near,
Daring and hopeful,
We say we'll still be friends.Could you stall a little outro,
Or at least take it slow,
I don't want this to end,
But it seems it has to go.I want to pause,
And stay still,
Forever lost in the melody,
But no matter what I say,
The song must come to an end.Standing in the distance,
I act like it doesn't hurt,
The final note echoing,
Like a solemn goodbye. We wrote a great song,
You and I,
I wonder if you'll smile,
When you hear the beat.An advert plays in the background,
And I know another one is coming,
With the little time I got,
I finally get the guts to say,
Dear playlist,
Thank you for keeping the memories.NOTE: It's not romantic it relates to friends. Or you could make it romantic, I just wrote it with a friend in mind.
