Hiroshi Tanaka could barely keep his eyes open as he trudged home from volleyball practice.

The setting sun painted the sky in fiery hues of red and orange. He clutched his gym bag tightly, feeling the weight of his exhaustion in every muscle.

"Ugh... That bastard went a bit too far... "

Hiroshi mumbled about one of his teammates, as he went to massage his forearm.

Volleyball had been Hiroshi's passion for as long as he could remember. Unlike most players who specialized in one position, Hiroshi had always prided himself on being an all-rounder. He was good at spiking, blocking, setting, receiving-whatever the team needed, Hiroshi could do it. Though his team wasn't particularly strong, he poured his heart into every match, striving to improve.

Hiroshi had also spent countless hours watching matches, studying professional players, and idolizing the incredible athletes he saw on TV. But above all, he had a special place in his heart for Haikyuu. He had rewatched the series so many times that he could practically quote every line, and he knew every detail about the players, their teams, and their strategies.

As he approached the crosswalk near his house, Hiroshi's mind drifted back to a certain scene-Hinata's incredible quick attack with Kageyama. He could still feel the rush of excitement as he imagined himself in their shoes. If only he could experience that level of volleyball in real life.

He shook his head, smiling at the thought.

"Yeah, right. "

he muttered to himself.

"Like that would ever happen."

The light turned green, and Hiroshi stepped off the curb, his thoughts still lost in the world of Haikyuu. He didn't notice the car speeding down the road, the driver distracted by his phone. The screech of tires was the last thing Hiroshi heard before everything went black.

---

When Hiroshi opened his eyes again, he was lying on his back, staring up at a ceiling he didn't recognize. It was a plain, white ceiling, with a single light that was fixed hanging in the center. He blinked, trying to remember what had happened. The car. The crosswalk. The blinding headlights.

Panic set in as he bolted upright, only to realize that his body felt... different. He looked down at himself, confusion washing over him. He was wearing a school uniform-a black jacket with a white button up underneath, and he was in a room that looked like a typical Japanese bedroom.

"What the...?" he muttered, his voice sounding oddly high-pitched. He scrambled to his feet and looked around, spotting a mirror on the wall. When he saw his reflection, his heart nearly stopped.

The face staring back at him wasn't his own. It was the face of a younger boy, with short black hair and bright, curious eyes. He looked to be about fifteen or sixteen years old-definitely not the seventeen-year-old Hiroshi remembered being.

"What is going on?!"
he whispered, his voice trembling. He stumbled back, his mind racing. This had to be a dream. It couldn't be real.

Suddenly, a knock on the door startled him.

"Hiroshi! You're going to be late for your first day at Karasuno High!" a woman's voice called from the other side of the door.

Karasuno High. The words echoed in Hiroshi's mind, and his heart skipped a beat.

Karasuno? As in 𝙏𝙃𝙀 Karasuno? The school from 𝙃𝘼𝙄𝙆𝙔𝙐𝙐?

Before he could process what was happening, the door opened, and a woman-presumably his new mother-peeked in. She gave him a warm smile.
