I slowly came to my senses, my sight doubled and uncontrolled, my body shaking, thirsty and hungry. Did someone hit me with a fucking brick and got me here? I blink as I try to regain control over myself before finally being able to actually looks around without my eyes having mind of their own.
I see an endless blue canvas with an occasion seagull flying high above. A salty smell invades my nose and with it the awful rotten stench... Am I by an ocean?
I slowly sit up from the course sand which invited itself into my clothes, getting in all sorts of places where I just preferred it not to be. I look around, sure enough, endless stretches of water in one direction, small waves occasionally crashing against the nearby rocks. I look to my left, a forest, not too thick with an occasional bush here and there. I look to my right, the beach continues to go as far as I can see.
Alright, now it's time to stand up.
As I start to rise I can feel my knees aching like hell. Fuck, only eighteen and already my bones ache as if I was an eighty year old Margaret living in a retirement home, god damn it.
I sit back down onto the sand with a soft thud before deciding that maybe I should stretch myself first.
I begin stretching my limbs as far as I can, hearing soft pops as if my bones were set back into their correct place. I finally feel like I can actually stand, so naturally that's what I try. I slowly rise and before long I am standing. My legs still feel like wet spaghetti noodles of someone who was hit by a car, but at least I can stand. I look behind me and I notice a tower peaking over the forest line, a logo of of a white anchor with two plains beside it on a blue background... Alright, where the hell am I? Should I go there? Maybe I can ask them where in bloody hell I am and they may even show me a way back home... Or maybe not, they could just shoot me on sight considering that their logo looks like a military insignia...
2 hours later
As I approached closer I noticed that it is in fact a military base thought there are some weird things about it, like the lack of an electric fence or any advanced security... or even moderate security. Though I can't blame them, it doesn't even look like a military base but some sort of a damn super fort, it's more like a city with an absurdly massive dock.
Suddenly I've heard plane buzz above my head, I look up and sure enough, military planes, even weirder is that they are are antique and if I remember correctly from my history book, they look like American World War II planes.
I walked further into quite empty military base until I started to hear voices.
"Where is he? Where is big brother?" Said a small girl with purple hair dressed in white dress while clutching tight a plush unicorn to her chest. Then she got embraced by a women with white hair dressed also in white, with a sunhat on her head and her hair tied into a pony tail.
"Don't worry, I'm sure commander will be back soon." The white dressed woman said as another white hair girl approached her, wearing a long black coat and a sleeveless vest under it along with black short skirt.
"I've seen him just few minutes ago, he was approaching the base before I lost contact."
Huh, so the commander must have left the base and entered it at the same time as I did... Suddenly the small purple haired girl noticed me and ran up to be before hugging me... What is happening?!
"Big brother! Please, don't leave like that ever again." ...What?
"Where the hell have you been?" Suddenly the white haired girl wearing a black coat asks... me? While staring into my soul... Before she hugs me too... What the hell is happening...
"W-What is going on? D-Do I know you?" I ask confused as they in return look at me with their own confused faces.
"What do you mean, you don't know what is going on? What do you mean you don't know us?" The taller one asks when the girl with a white pony tail speaks up.
"Enterprise, maybe we should take him to Vestal in case he actually..." She whispered to the girl that is apparently nicknamed Enterprise.
End of Prologue
Author's note: I'm sorry for it being only 758 words long, but it's only the prologue. I will make the main chapters longer. I am very open to any of your critiques about pretty much anything, from the writing style to spelling mistakes. Despite the fact that I've already written some minor things before and even tried taking something bigger on, I usually quit, not because of a lack of inspiration because I want to write, it also probably not the writer's block, it's just that I stop following the main concept of a story and before I realize it's already about something different. So please, if you ever will feel like I am steering away from a concept, please, call me out on it. Also the concept here is a mix of isekai with lost memories of the past life in a world similar to ours. I hope that we will have an amazing journey in the world I'll try to create.
