Those were all the emotions running through Kaida Ryugetsu's mind as she ran and ran all the way home. She'd just gotten off school. Throughout the whole day, she'd been imagining a horrible scenario involving a strange distorted monster. It's stupid, she knew, but she couldn't help but panic.
She'd been getting these panicky hunches quite a lot from the last few days, like her gut telling her something horrible was about to happen. She'd never felt this jumpy before, this was a first.She had everything she could ever ask for; a happy, functioning family, good grades, a healthy body, kind friends, there was nothing more she needed (ok maybe a cat would complete the list but that's beside the point).
But right now was different.'I have to-no-I NEED to get home' she thought. Her gut was telling her to get home as soon as physically possible. This'd never happened before and she was scared to death.
While she was caught up in her thoughts while running, she crashed into a boy. He was around the same age as her, he had beautiful silver hair, amethyst coloured eyes and a collar pulled up to his mouth, covering it. She saw a look of horror/shock/confusion on his face, though she couldn't tell which one it was.
She mumbled a quick "I'm so sorry" to him and continued running.
She saw out of the corner of her eyes that he seemed like he was about to yell after her to wait, but she didn't.
She needed to get home, now. She just needed her parents and brother smiling at her just once to stop this panic in herself. She kept running for what felt like forever, although in reality it was just seven minutes.
She dashed up the steps of her front porch and frantically knocked o the door, rung the doorbell, but no answer.
'Shit' she thought. 'It's locked from the inside'. She tried to force the door open but that didn't work, so she decided to break down the door, not caring about the consequences.
That was when she heard it.
A shrill, high pitched blood curdling scream.
It was her mom.
Her attempts at breaking down the door were getting more and more frantic and hasty after hearing that.
As a last resort, she started ramming her shoulder into the door to break it down and after a few attempts, it came loose from the hinges and finally broke down.
She stumbled through and the sight she saw was. . . gruesome to say the least.
