(Finn POV)
I walked into the house, right behind Mizu.
Smoke.
Everywhere.
"What the hell?" I yelled, trying not to inhale too much smoke, but that was near impossible.
I could see Mizu and Kusa, both hunched over and coughing. Hitze was no-where in sight.
"We-," Kusa began, but paused to cough. "We have a bad habit of burning cookies."
Then I heard Hitze's voice. "It's okay, guys! They're not on fire."
"Are you wearing oven mitts?" Kusa yelled as the three of us approached her voice.
She was holding the tray, black lumps decorating it, and I think I could make a smile out of her face. She was not, in fact, wearing oven mitts.
"Ooohh... So that's why the tray's so hot! Nope!" She sounded so unbothered. It was almost concerning. That and the fact she hadn't coughed once.
"Are you sane?" I asked before breaking into a fit of coughs.
"I let you come over because you're wearing eyeliner. What do you think?" She asked, her voice suddenly stern and serious.
"Fair." was my reply as I walked over to her.
Kusa and Mizu went around to open windows and doors, I assumed.
She put the tray in the sink and hand picked each cookie lump off the tray.
"Lemme see this shit-" I grumbled, putting my hand on the tray to pick a cookie off.
It was hot.
I screamed.
And the cookie learned how to fly.
Hitze started to run cold water and I rinsed my hand in it.
"How the hell are you not reacting?" I hissed and the tray sizzled as the water hit it. "It's hot as hell!"
"I'm hotter." Hitze retorted as she put the burnt cookies in a plastic bag, that some how didn't melt.
"How the hell did we become friends?" I scoffed.
"You wore eyeliner." Was Hitze's response.
I heard Kusa's voice. "Hitze! Grab the 20 fans from in your room!" And then a cough.
"Fine!" Hitze yelled back, and she disappeared into the smoke as I was left rinsing the tray off with cold water.
It was still sizzling.
Soon, I found Mizu at my side.
"You okay?" He asked softly.
He was definitely my favorite out of the three.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. I'll heal in a few days." I nodded. "Thanks."
He nodded back.
Not long later, their house was mostly clear of the smoke.
Hitze had given me a house tour, Kusa ordered take out, and Mizu was trying to get rid of the rest of the smoke.
And there was a knock at the door.
Hitze almost immediately scrambled to open it, Kusa and I following her.
"Ohmigosh, ohmigosh, ohmigosh." Hitze squealed. "Pretty ladies that are Finn's friends!"
"Oh, hey Yuna, Tayla." I greeted. "You found me unreasonably fast." I couldn't help but notice their hair was wet.
They didn't... did they?
