Dakotas POV❤️
Friday
"You need to give it up
Had about enough
It's not hard to see
The boy is mine
I'm sorry that you
Seem to be confused
He belongs to me
The boy is mine" I sing with the loud music filling my studio using my paintbrush as a microphone. I turn to see Mik smiling leaning on the door. I turn it down and go back to painting. "Hey.""It's time to eat." She says coming beside me as I finish up Jasmines painting. "It looks amazing Dakota." She praises and I smile warmly.
"Thanks. And I'm coming, just let me wash my hands." I say showing my paint covered hands and she nods and leaves the room to go back to the kitchen. I unbuckle the left strap on my overalls and let it hang on my hips as my black tank shows. I go to my sink and wash my hands thoroughly and rinse my hair from paint and let it hang out of my bandanna. I walk to the kitchen and see her fixing bowls of ramen. She learned how to make it when we went to Japan to learn about their customs since we had clients there. "Mm it smells amazing. You've been killing it with the meals lately." I say rubbing my hands together and licking my lips.
She smiles. "Thanks I hope you like it. But don't get so used to me cooking for you, I'm only doing it because you've been in a rut since Tuesday and starving isn't exactly how I wish to die. Which by the way you still haven't told me why you have been in a rut." She says looking at me and I slurp the noodles obnoxiously. "Really asshole?"
I laugh. "What, it's delicious." I shrug. She gives me a bored look. "It's nothing too serious, I don't want to talk about it."
She sighs. "You've been saying that since I've picked you up from Jamie's and Ravens place." Jamie and Raven, they're together, married, happy! "If it's the accident maybe you should go to therapy. Maybe you're going through some traumatic like some 'life flashed before my eyes' type shit." She says and my jaw clenches.
"I said I don't want to talk about it Mik. I-I can't talk about it." I say and it's true. I don't think talking about the kiss is the right thing when I don't know what it means. The past few days I've been in my head trying to figure out what was behind the kiss. No, I didn't kiss her back. She's Jamie's wife. I knew it was wrong and my body wouldn't allow me to betray my bestfriend no matter how I feel. When she came to my house I panicked and knew she would apologize and tell me she regretted it. I didn't want to hear that and so I told her to leave. I wanted her to stay. I should've told her to stay. "I should've told her to stay." I mumble.
"What?" Mik asks and my eyes meet hers.
"Raven, I-I should've told her to stay." I say again and she looks at me confused.
"Dakota what are you talking about?" She asks and I sigh rolling my eyes and continue eating. She grabs the bowl with me meeting my mouth half way. "Dakota what's going on with you and Raven?"
I take a breath. "Um Tuesday after we left the mall, we almost got in an accident. It was a very scary moment and when I tried talking to her she wouldn't even look at me. So I drove her home and when we got there, she still wasn't getting out or saying anything to me." She nods for me to continue. "And when I went to her side to help she still wouldn't say anything to me. I-I didn't know what to do. I thought maybe she was hurt somewhere I couldn't see. And when she called my name I thought she would finally say something but then she kissed me." I breathe the last part out and I see her eyes go wide.
"W-what?" I nod. "Dakota what the fuck?! Why didn't you tell me?! W-why did she kiss you?!" I shrug. "The fuck does that mean?" She mocks my shrug.
"I don't know usually, Mikayla." I say annoyed. "Look I don't know why she kissed me. And I don't think I want to know."
