In an alternate reality where Toji's wife didn't die and stop being a sorcerer killer , learning how to love his family with each passing day and maturing with them.
Megumi was born 7 days ago and Mamaguro is still very exhausted after giving birth.
Suddenly Megumi starts crying loudly and she continues sleeping deeply but Toji wakes up to the loud noises Megumi makes when crying.
-Ugh, that damn baby is sure loud..
He tiredly gets up and heads for Megumi's crib and holds him in his arms with Megumim still crying.
Then Toji rocks Megumi gently in his arms.
-Cmon now you damn kid, you're gonna wake your mother at this rate.
Then Megumi cried so loudly that she managed to wake Mamaguro from her deep sleep and she went towards the room worried that something was happening to Megumi.
Toji still holding Megumi who hasn't calmed down in the slightest
-I got him, he's just being... a crybaby.
Mamaguro then starts giggling
-You really don't know how to handle babies, let me check on him.
-Hey, I've been doing just fine!
He says with a somewhat annoyed grunt, but still hands over the crying baby for Mamaguro.
Then she says still playing with his face with a tone of irony in his voice.
-Oh yes for sure.
He shoots a slight glance over at her.
-Oh shut up. It's not like you know how to handle him all the time either.
She then looks at him, rolling her eyes and smiles.
-At least I don't call my baby a crybaby for crying.
-I wasn't calling him a crybaby. I was calling all babies crybabies.
He says with a slight chuckle.
Mamaguro ignores him and analyzes Megumi's body gesture then she notices that his belly is hard, then she looks at Toji.
-He has colic, Toji.
Then she sighs, running her hand behind her head and smiling.
-You have to learn to analyze Megumim, he is also your son.
He rolls his eyes.
-Yeah yeah, I'm still learning...
He says with an annoyed grunt, but deep down knowing that his wife was right.
-But how do you cure this colic thing?
-By giving him massages.
She then begins stroking every part of Megumi's belly for 10 minutes, until he falls into a deep sleep, then she hands him to Toji.
-There, no more crying.
He nods, taking the fast asleep Megumi from her and gently holding him in his arms.
-He'll wake up needing something again in a few hours no doubt.
He says with a little sigh and a tired expression.
Mamaguro smiles.
-That's how babies are, Toji, they cry most of the time when they are little because they are dependent, they can't talk, walk, do basic things, so crying is a way for them to communicate about their needs.
He rolls his eyes, but also can't help smiling at her words and nodding to her statement. He knew she was right in his head, but just couldn't let her know that he knew it too.
-Yeah I know. It was just a pain in the ass to deal with him.
He let out another little sigh.
He watches her with a little smirk, then looks down at little Megumi in his arms.
-He is, actually. He looks less like a cry baby like this, and he's actually kind of... adorable.
He says, sounding a little hesitant and awkward saying that last word. He still can't believe he has a family with her.
Mamaguro can't help but chuckle, amused at Toji struggling to call the baby adorable.
-You are surprisingly a good father, you just have to try not to call him a crybaby.
She says, still smiling as she approaches him.
He continues looking down at the baby in his arms. He was surprised himself that he could be a good father, and he was really trying hard to change himself for them. He still couldn't help being his regular sarcastic, smug self though.
-Yeah yeah, I know.
He said with a smirk while rolling his eyes a little, still watching over the sleeping Megumi.
Then Toji yawns.
Mamaguro then lets out a chuckle when she sees him yawn, finding it quite funny.
-Tired from dealing with a baby, huh?
Mamaguro says with a mocking tone.
He smirks with a little chuckle, as he lets out another little yawn, trying to hide it with his free hand.
Mamaguro can't help but let out another soft laugh as he yawns again, realizing that he's really tired.
-You are so bad at hiding your yawning, huh, Toji?
She says in a lighthearted tone, still slightly amused by his obvious tiredness.
He shoots her a glare, not liking the fact that she was getting amusement from his exhaustion. He still tried to hide it though.
-I have no idea what you're talking about.
Toji sits in a chair holding Megumi in his arms but his eyelids get heavy and he falls asleep like a baby.
Mamaguro can't help but cover her mouth to hide her laugh when Toji falls asleep in the chair with Megumi.
-Oh my.
She says to herself as she watches him sleep, thinking it's very cute how he just fell asleep like that.
Then she gets closer silently and looks down at him, finding the scene very adorable.
Then she takes her cell phone and takes several photos of the two of them sleeping on the sofa.
-So cute.
She then takes Megumi from Toji's arms and places him in the crib, giving him a kiss on the forehead and then takes a sheet and covers Toji, giving him a kiss on the forehead.
-Goodnight darling.
