Life had been flowing smoothly since the school festival. Your bond with Saiki and his friends had deepened, and you'd gotten used to the chaos they brought into your daily life. The days were filled with laughter, quiet moments with Saiki, and the usual eccentric antics of Nendou, Kaidou, and the rest. You had found a rhythm, a comfort in the unpredictability.
But all of that changed when a new student arrived.
It was a Monday morning, and the air buzzed with gossip about the transfer student who had just joined your class. You didn't think much of it at first—after all, new students came and went. But this one quickly made his presence known.
"Hey, everyone! I'm Takashi Ren!" His voice was warm, confident, and a little too charming as he stood at the front of the classroom, his smile dazzling the entire room.
From the moment Ren introduced himself, it was clear that he had a natural charisma that drew people in. His sharp features, tousled dark hair, and easy smile made him the center of attention almost instantly. You could hear whispers from your classmates—especially the girls—about how good-looking he was and how he seemed like the "perfect" guy.
Ren wasted no time getting to know everyone, but when his gaze landed on you, something shifted. His smile widened, his eyes lighting up with curiosity as he made his way over to your desk.
"You're [Your Name], right?" Ren asked, his voice smooth as he leaned against the desk casually. "I've heard about you."
Surprised, you blinked up at him. "You have?"
"Yeah," he said, flashing that easygoing smile again. "Everyone's been talking about how you're always hanging out with Saiki and his friends. Sounds like a fun group."
You chuckled. "Yeah, fun is one word for it."
Ren's eyes sparkled with amusement, and before you could say anything else, he pulled out the chair next to you and sat down. "Mind if I sit here? I'd like to get to know you better."
You glanced around the room, feeling a little caught off guard by how direct he was. "Uh, sure, I guess."
Throughout the day, Ren made a point of sticking close to you, chatting casually and trying to engage you in conversation at every opportunity. He was charming, no doubt about it, but something about his sudden attention made you feel slightly uneasy. It wasn't long before Saiki—and his friends—took notice.
During lunch, as you and Saiki were making your way to the rooftop, you noticed Ren trailing behind. You shot Saiki a look, but his expression remained unreadable, though you could sense the slight shift in his energy.
"Mind if I join you?" Ren asked, his voice casual as he fell into step beside you. "I heard you guys hang out on the roof."
Before you could respond, Nendou appeared out of nowhere, slinging an arm around Ren's shoulder. "Hey, new guy! You wanna hang with us? Cool! The more the merrier!"
Ren smiled, unfazed by Nendou's exuberance. "Thanks, Nendou. You're all pretty interesting."
Kaidou, who had been watching from a distance, narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "I sense something strange about him... Could he be an agent of the Dark Reunion?"
You suppressed a laugh, but the tension between Ren and the group wasn't lost on you. Saiki remained quiet, observing from the sidelines as Ren made himself comfortable among you and the others.
Over the next few days, it became clear that Ren's interest in you went beyond casual friendship. He sought you out constantly—asking to walk with you after school, sitting next to you in class, and finding excuses to be around you during breaks. And though he was always polite, you couldn't shake the feeling that there was something calculated in his plans of always asking you to do something with him
