"Yellow Face, we don't have time for ads!"
About two weeks has passed since the last contest. Whistle wakes up from sleeping on the grass, feeling ill-rested, bags below his eyes. He overslept; it was late in the morning. He had been sleeping on the grass these past few days, and he still hasn't gotten used to it. He stretches his arms and lets out a yawn. He then stands up, and takes a walk on the meadow, hunching a little bit from how tired he is. He then hears a voice with a distinctive accent.
"Oh, morning Whistle! Still having trouble sleeping?", Pin says to him after seeing him walk right by her.
Whistle, after hearing this voice, turns around to see Pin and Coiny have a conversation with each other. "Oh, uhh, yeah.", he replied to Pin.
"Well, umm... how've you been recently?", Pin asked, unsure of what to ask to Whistle to start a conversation. Whistle then goes to sit beside her on the grass.
"Not very good. I really haven't got any good sleep lately."
"That's... not very good to hear."
"Also, I'm going to be honest here, the people here, they freak me out. I've seen people kill each other frequently like it's nothing."
Pin let out a sigh. "Yeah, I understand why you would feel that way."
"Y-y'know, I've always wondered, why are you so... nice and.. hospitable to me? No one else here is this nice to me."
"I... just want to be a good team leader. I.. really wasn't a very good team leader back then. I just want to redeem myself."
"Hmm, well.. I really haven't seen you lead this team yet, but I'm.... sure you're a pretty good team leader. You sure do know how to care for your team members."
"You think so?"
"Yes."
"Th-thank you.", Pin says, smiling. Whistle smiled back.
Suddenly, Whistle feels his back get stabbed by some sharp object. "Ow!", he lets out.
Pin, concerned for him, asked, "Wh-what's wrong?"
He turns around, to find a non-sentient fork laying on the ground. A little confused, he grabs it, to inspect it, only for another fork to fly past him. He then quickly realized what's going on.
From far away, Whistle's two teammates Gelatin and Firey are rapidly throwing forks at random places. These two love to throw forks, for seemingly no reason.
Firey says as he's throwing the forks, "I miss these times hanging out with you, Jello Boy."
Gelatin replied, "Glad to hear it, buddy!"
Whistle walked over to the two fork-throwers to confront them. "Hey, you two. Can you stop throwing forks EVERYWHERE?", he says.
Gelatin asked, while still throwing forks, "Why?"
Whistle, irritated, says, "What do you mean 'why'? You're causing a ruckus!". Neither Gelatin nor Firey seemed to listen or even care, as they continued to throw forks everywhere.
