࿔‧ ֶָ֢˚˖ IN REAL LIFE ˖˚ֶָ֢ ‧࿔CHRISTMAS DINNER USED to be very important to Arabella, not only because she had the chance to eat gallions of food, but mostly because it was one of the rare moment in life where her and her family would gather together and share a moment.
But this year, it was different. It was only her, her parents and her grandma. No aunties, or uncles or even cousins. Just the four of them, but Bella was grateful, it was all she ever needed, her family and her father's exquisite cranberry sauce.
"Bella, darling, could you pass me the mashed potatoes, please?" Her grandma asked.
Bella grabbed the bowl and handed it to her grandmother, the old woman took a look at her hands before widening her eyes.
"You got more hands tattoos?!" She gasped.
Arabella raised her eyebrows before she smiled and showed them off to her grandma.
"I did! I got a moon and Galinda's wand."
"The wand looks pretty." Her grandma replied.
Arabella then looked at her mother, who never really approved of all those tattoos, but she started getting them when she was old enough to stop asking permission to her parents. Therefore her mom never really got a say in this.
"Your boyfriend Jack is not spending Christmas with us this year?" Her grandma asked.
"Mom, I told you, they broke up a few months ago." Arabella's mom said.
"Oh!" She gasped, "Sorry, I am quite lost with all this dating history."
"Am I a whore to you?" Bella jokingly asked her grandma.
"You are a whore, Darlin'!" Her grandma quoted the movie Showgirls.
They both started laughing while her father looked at them with a smile, he always admired their chemistry. Arabella took a more serious tone.
"Jack and I broke up again, but this time for good. I think," She poured some cranberry sauce into her plate, "plus, I met someone else."
"No shit, I saw multiple tabloids about it." Her grandma said, sipping on wine.
"Oh, the Nicholas guy?" Her father asked.
"Who's Nicholas? Do we know him?" Her grandmother asked
"No we don't, we stil haven't met him. You could've brought him with you tonight." Her father said.
Arabella sighed heavily.
"You haven't met him yet because him and I are not exclusive. And that's why I didn't bring him here tonight either, and he's also already spending Christmas with his family."
Her grandmother disappointedly sighed before she took a bite of her turkey.
"Darling you should start wishing for a good man." She said.
"Maybe I should write a song about it." She chuckled.
