“Hello, Mr. Germany!” Taiwan said as she stood beside the tall nation who was currently looking at a wall.

“Oh. Hello there, Taiwan. Why are you here?” He asked.

“Japan said he was going to visit you, so I came along.” She smiled softly.

“I see…”  Germany let out a sigh and picked up debris from the cracked wall. “May I borrow your hand?” He asked as he turned to face the other nation.

Taiwan nodded and stretched out her right hand.

“This,” He said as he put the concrete piece in her hand, “signifies new hope.”

She held it with her two hands and examined it. “Why is that so, Mr. Germany?”

“For, this piece of concrete is a piece of this cracked wall beside us. This wall that has burdened my brother and I! This wall that had kept him and I separated ever since the end of the Second World War! And now that this wall is starting to break down with the help of the townspeople, I might be able to see my brother again!” He said with uneasy breathing and teary eyes.

“I-I’m glad to hear that, Mr. Germany. It’s so amazing to hear that even if you are facing much tougher problems, you give more importance to this wall and your brother’s condition,” She smiled as tears started to roll down her cheeks, “I know you both could do it. I know both of you will see each other soon. Fight. Fight with all your heart and soul.”

“Well, Taiwan, let’s go inside. Japan must be worried about you and it’s getting dark now.” He said as he wiped the tears from her face and led her inside his house.

It was 3 o' clock in the morning when Germany woke up. He went down to the kitchen and was about to make breakfast until he heard a knock. He went to the door and opened it.

“West…”

Germany smiled. “I’m glad you’re back, Bruder.”
