Light came through the the window, the sun pierced through Jeanne's eyelids, forcing her to open them. A patch-quilt covered her body.
"Where am I?" Jeanne said.
She forced herself to move away from the queen-sized bed and stood up, trying to gain her balance. She looked around the room. To the left of the bed was a night stand with candles on it. Further down there was a wooden desk with a mirror attached to it. A small bench stood in front of the bed. The right of the bed stood a glorious hand-carved pink wardrobe. An old, wide chair rested in front of the window.
Jeanne walked over to the chair and placed her knees on the cushioned seat and looked outside.
"Snow!" Jeanne said unbelievably. She realized that it was cold the night before, until she saw those eyes. When she noticed the eyes, everything had gone warm almost burning hot. Fear overwhelmed her and she became light-headed.
"I must escape!" Jeanne thought.
She lifted the window ceil. Her eyes wondered to the water fountain, an angle sitting on top trying to spit out frozen water. She looked directly down.
"Vines! I am saved," she thought excitedly.
She then realized, she was three stories above the ground. Refocusing on her task she continued to step out the window. She planted each of her feet, making sure that she did not fall. She took her left foot and positioned it below her and carefully balanced on a vine. Jeanne pulled her dress away from her right foot. She grabbed the vine again and moved her right foot placing it on another vine. She repeated the steps until she touched the ground.
She browsed through the the snow to find anymore beasts and crept around the dark castle. Luckily she was placed only on the third level. The castle itself was at least six stories high. The tower was at least eight stories, it was decorated with demonic gargoyles.
(Crack)
A sound came behind her. Jeanne became hot with fear and the only instinct she had was to run. So, she ran into the woods. She ran faster then ever before, Dodging branches and jumping over bushes. She ran, she didn't know wher, but she had to run.
(Grrrr)
She stopped immediately. A snarling gray wolf stood in front of her. Slowly backing away, the wolf pounced, but before it could reach her, a mysterious caped figure intercepted the wolf's snack. He pushed the wolf and it flung into a tree. The wolf picked itself up and glared at Jeanne, and then at the interceptor. Cowering, it turned and limped away.
"Thank you," Jeanne said to her hero.
A low voice replied, "don't thank me yet."
He turned around. It was the beast! She stepped back, forcing her body and mind to accept the creature. Instinct kicked in once again, but before she could take a step, he grabbed her had.
It spoke mockingly, "don't you want to know why I brought you here?"
Ignoring the question, she cried out, "help! Somebody help me!"
"There is no use, no one will hear you, except for my henchmen."
It started walking towards the castle, bringing Jeanne along with it.
