It didn't take long for Dominiqus to arrive at Bertanelli's mansion. They were unaware that the king had decided to attend the ball.
The party was in full swing when there was a deafening silence, and everyone was in sync. Their focus was at the entrance of the hall. Dress in all his glory was Dominiqus and his third in command. Everyone bowed their heads in respect. He acknowledged their reverence with a wave of the hand, and like an in-sync army, they unfroze and continue their celebration. There were a few who were unhappy with the king's presence. Nevertheless, he took his place at the Bertanelli coven leader seat, imposing his power and disregarding their presence.
The Dragcona and Bertanelli had a long and difficult history. The Bertanellis did everything in their power to Dragconas from ruling. They had killed their princess, and since then, there has been bad blood. The Dragconas got their revenge, but it couldn't replace what they had lost.
Dominiqus hated them; if he could wipe them from the face of this earth, he would, but he can't, not without a solid reason. A king has duties to uphold to his people, and they need to trust him."My king, we are grateful that you have blessed us with your presence," said Atticus.
Dominiqus stared at him without a word or acknowledgment, leaving Atticus frazzled. He was Bertanelli's lap dog, and sending him here was an insult, an insult he took personally. They didn't know yet, but the party was about to get interesting; the guest of honor hadn't arrived yet. Dominiqus guest, Selena, a witch that was wronged by the Bertanelli, and she wasn't coming to have a drink. No, her presence is a warning that she would have her revenge.
It was at witching hour when the most important guest arrived. Selena, all in her glory, beautiful as ever, with ocean blue eyes, hair as dark as obsidian, and skin like gold. Every vampire had their eyes on her; men lusted after her, and women cast their eyes in envy. Selena strutted like she was on a runway modeling for John Galliano. Vampires moved out of her way to create a path for her, while she cast them seductive looks. Her beauty overshadowed her being a witch, and they failed to see how dangerous she was.
The Bertanellis were furious
"How dare her!" shouted Marcell. The smile on the face of a certain someone was priceless; her entrance alone made up for their disrespect.
He wanted to let his presence be known and let them know he was aware of their scheming and was waiting for them to make their move so he could erase them."Hello there, gentlemen. Is this seat taken?" With a shake of head, she was seated. Dominiqus stared right at the Bertanellis and saw them fuming. He showed them his first chess piece and so it's their move.
They hung around for a while, greeted the people, and left without a word. They were there to make a statement, and that part was done.
