2. Mommy

"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy wake up!" five year old Adonis said shaking Drake until he woke up.

"I'm up Adonis, jeez I swear you always hyper in the morning" Drake said blinking trying to wake up.

"But you love hyper me!" the five year old screams, making Drake groan asking himself the thought of shipping Adonis to his parents sounding like a good plan right now.

"F-Duck Adonis can you give me five minutes, please" He says turning over to ignore his son.

"But today is pancake day"

"Go ask uncle Hakeem, tell him I'll buy him that BMW Motorcycle that he wants" Drake says not wanting to get up at all.

"Okay!!" then little running footsteps are heard, Adonis getting out of his room heading straight to Hakeems room who opened it wearing shorts with his hair wet.

"Good morning uncle Keem! Mommy said make me pancakes" Adonis said as Hakeem picked him up.

"Yea no, I got to watch a game buddy" Hakeem says heading to Adonis room knowing that's where Drakes probably sleeping.

"But Mommy said he'll buy you the motorcycle you want" Adonis says wrapping his hands around Hakeems neck.

"Pancakes it is, what flavor do you want?" Hakeem immediately takes a detour heading downstairs to the kitchen.

"Make vanilla pancakes, mommy likes vanilla" the kid says smiling.

"You're so cute, makes me wanna have kids of my own" Hakeem says sitting Adonis on the counter as he starts getting busy.

Twenty minutes later the two if them are eating with Adonis in Uncle Keem's lap as they watch Tom and Jerry.

Drake walks down to them wearing Louis Vuitton hoodie and Levi denim bum shorts, he was at home and just wanted to be comfortable.

"Good morning Keem" Drake says heading to the microwave to grab his own pancakes and starts eating.

"Morning Drey" Hakeem greets back still staring at the cartoon.

"Seems like Adonis tricked you into Tom and Jerry again"  he says Taking a bite and moaning at the taste.

"Yes he did and stop that,there's a thin line between cousins" Hakeem says jokingly and Drake laughs.

"Boy you nasty" Drake says shaking his head before continuing to eat.

A few minutes later he's done and clears the table.

"Adonis sweetie, go get ready for school. Aunt Nicki said she's picking you up today" the male says placing the dishes in the dishwasher.

"Yayyy aunt Nicki, is Papa Bear coming with her" Adonis asks hopeful.

"Yes he is,I already laid out your clothes on your bed so chop chop come on"

"OK mommy!" Adonis yells as he heads to his room.

"Its daddy!" Drake yells back but receives no reply. He sighs heading to the living room with Hakeem.

"He's never going to stop calling you that"

"I know, I just don't want him to call me mommy in front of people. You know how fucked up it would be. TMZ be headlining my kid, hell no!" Drake says shaking his head as he gets comfortable on the couch.

"I'm sure they'll just make a joke of it, take it as my nephew making a mistake. You're overthinking it Drey" Keem says getting comfortable as he turns on the TV the second half of the game playing.

"I know but I just don't want any slip ups, I've come too far to let it crumble now" he says letting out a tired sigh.

"I know, and i support you, you know that. But your kid is afraid to interact with you freely in public because of that shit. It ain't fair to him"

"Don't you think I know that, his therapist said he's making progress though. He made a friend in class two weeks ago and now he's vocal with other kids too" Drake says thinking about his sons situation.

It started when the boy was three years old, he was so used to calling Drake mommy that he called him at an event with paparazzi around. Drake drunk at the time left immediately with Adonis and scolded the boy several times in the car. He had to admit that wasn't one of his proudest moments.

Flashback

"Don't you fucken ever call me that in front of people!!!" he said pointing at the boy who was crying.

"Do you hear me!!"

"Ye-y-yes m-mommy" little Adonis said crying.

"What the fuck did I just say Adonis!"

"So-sorry" the boy said scared in a whisper.

"Calm me that again in front of people and I'm sending you to my parents" Drake seethed.

Flashback ends

Ever since that day Adonis had stopped speaking even in front of Drake, at first he just thought the boy was throwing a tantrum.

But as it went on he started to feel uncomfortable by his sons silence but just thought it was going to be OK.

Then he remembered introducing Adonis to J Cole and the boy froze.

Flashback

"Come on baby say hi" Drake tried to coax Adonis to greet his boyfriend but the boy just stood motionless as tears started to gather in his eyes.

"Hey little man, how are you?" J Cole said squatting to the toddlers height.

"Come on Adonis say hi" Drake tried again but Adonis started shaking his head as his breadth quickened.

"Adonis! Baby what's wrong?" Drake said as his son had a full on panic attack and thats when they rushed him to the hospital.

After  a psychiatrist evaluation it turned out the boy was afraid to speak in front of people lest the word mommy slipped out by mistake and got sent away. He didn't want to be far away from his mommy.

After that they found out the cause  Drake felt guilty about it for months.

Ever since then he doesn't yell at Adonis even when the boy does something wrong he talks to the boy using a soft approach and try to make him understand.

"You're right if it happens it happens, I just dont want my son afraid of me or losing me" Drake said at last, Adonis was his flesh and blood and he'd try to raise him right.
