They had a rough night that night. They camped out in the woods, a hundred yards from the main road. In a marshy clearing where a couple local teenagers had clearly used the area for parties.

The ground was littered with flattened soda cans and fast-food wrappers. Grover quickly cleared the litter by collecting it a pile and snacking on it.

The group had taken food and blankets from Medusa's lair. But they didn't light a campfire to dry their damp clothes. The fiery explosion with the Furies was enough for everyone.

They also didn't want to attract anything, whether it was mortal or not. They decided to take shifts for watch duty.

Percy volunteered to be the first. No one argued as everyone was tired. Annabeth was the first to curl up on the blankets and was snoring as soon as her head hit the ground.

Sammy also curled himself in the blanket. If Annabeth had turned into a tired kitten when she hit the blankets. Then Sammy turned into a bee, on his side and the blanket encapsulated him.

The last thing he heard was the sound of fluttering from Grover's flying shoes. Then he drifted off to sleep.

His dream was warm. He was alone in a field of flowers. Sammy knew where he was. The flower fields of his childhood. He took a deep breath. He was hypnotized by what was in front of him.

He was alone. The sun was peaking over the horizon, the sky was a mixture of pink, orange, purple, and yellow. He couldn't tell if it was dawn or dusk.

The fields of colorful flowers were in full bloom. Fifty acres of dazzling flowers that were only bloomed for six to eight weeks of the year.

Sammy was alone. He was able to walk the fields by himself. He was barefoot, he could feel the ground beneath his feet.

He glided through the rows of ranunculus. His fingers lightly brushing the petals of the flowers.

Suddenly, a cold wind brushed through. The sky seemed even darker. The sun disappeared, taking its warm glow and soft light with it. Sammy felt chills.

"Little bee." An old voice said.

Sammy turned, behind him was a giant hole in the fields. There was cold gust of wind emanating from the pit. Flowers on the edge of the hole were wilting and withering before falling in.
