Chapter Nine

It was around midnight and two days after Muzan and Yoriichi last interacted. The reason for that being that Yoriichi had promised Muzan to go out and get him a human or two, as well as continue his job as a slayer. Knowing that his 'partner' would be gone for quite some time left the ravenette feeling down, lonely even. He couldn't do anything, go anywhere, being trapped within the confines of the redhead's home.

It wasn't a terrible home, though. It was nice, elegant, vintage, modern. On top of that, Yoriichi had lovely rooms and amazing outside decor. The house from the outside could've been mistaken for a Royalty's house almost, only if it was slightly downgraded and wooden. Yoriichi's wasn't exactly a typical Royal house, but nor was it a typical citizen's house. Other houses were small, neat, tidy, not as decorative, pretty plain overall.

Muzan walked around, sighing to himself as he wandered the halls, looking at every door and peering inside every room until he reached one on the second floor, one that didn't follow the door patterns. In fact, it was the complete opposite of a door. It was more of a curtain than a door. Hanging in front of it was a sign. The Cat House. Hm, odd name for an odd room, Muzan thought to himself, looking around to make sure no one was nearby or anything, even though he was definitely home alone. Hopefully.

As soon as the demon stepped through the curtain, he was greeted with a crimson, intimidating light which lit up a dark corridor, a slightly brighter light in the distance. Walking slowly towards it, as Muzan took his first step, he swore he stepped on something. There was a soft crunch beneath his foot before he lifted it up and bent down, his fingers landing on what felt like a flower's petal. Funny enough, it was a rose petal. God damn Yoriichi, Muzan mentally rolled his eyes, what are you hiding? Walking further, he peeked his head around the cold wooden planks, the air sharp and icy as his ruby red eyes widened at the sight.

In the room, there was a large, most likely king size bed, with posts on every corner, a laced red curtain tied to each of them, the smooth, dark oak wood adding more definition to it. The covers were delicate and oddly smelled new. It had the king wondering if Yoriichi had been planning on using it soon, when he came back from his missions he had been assigned. Muzan ran his pale, slim fingers along the bed's mattress, sighing as he relaxed his shoulders, the feeling soft and comforting. Like how a mattress should feel.

Looking around the room, there were multiple sets of drawers, different decorations on them, like a vase with roses, or small fake plants in pots. One that caught Muzan's eye the most though was the set of drawers that had nothing on it, as well as looking more elegant and detailed than the others, different swirls and patterns surrounding the drawers and sides. The demon slowly made his way towards it, inspecting it every step he took. What was in it? Was it nothing? Something Muzan maybe shouldn't see?

Bracing himself for the worst, Muzan flung the top drawer open, seeing nothing but dust and random pieces of paper with doodles on it. Useless. Then, Muzan slid the second one open. Nothing, again. Then the third one, nothing. The fourth one? Nothing again. None of the drawers had anything inside, most likely meaning it was new or just not in use. Looking around the room again, Muzan had a strong feeling something was being hidden in here. What it was, Muzan had no clue of.

Once the pale man made his way out, he decided to snoop around the house again, the moon's soft glow seeping through the small gaps between the boarded up windows. Muzan let out a soft hum, his eyes staring, begging to see the moonlight and the soft sway of trees again. He hadn't been outside since Yoriichi left, so it was quite boring having nothing nice to see other than the same old boring house layout.

Muzan made his way back to the room he shared with Yoriichi, deciding it wouldn't hurt to maybe have a nosy around, to see if there was anything new anywhere. That would most likely be the worst decision he'd ever make in his entire life. As soon as he entered, the waft of new air hit him smack in the face, making him stumble back slightly, shaking his head before walking back in, looking around at the room he'd been in many times as if it was completely new and different.

Well, it kind of was, since Muzan had rarely ever gotten to get a good look at the room. The wallpaper was beautiful, different flowers plastered all over with swirls and other cute details. The bed still looked the same, only way neater and tidier than Muzan had ever seen before. Probably because after Yoriichi had left, Muzan forced himself to sleep on the couch or even on the floor in the bedroom at times, forcing his body to work how human bodies did when it came to sleeping and nighttime.

His fingers collected dust at the tips as he swiped it across the top of a set of drawers in the corner of the room, this being something Muzan definitely had not seen before. It wouldn't hurt to take a look in the drawers, right? Muzan thought ti himself, taking a glance around the room, hands wrapped around both knobs on the first drawer, looking to see if there was anything else he wanted to look at first. No, there definitely wasn't.

Swinging the drawer open, Muzan rummaged through it, pulling out a rolled up, old looking piece of paper. He inspected it with his eyes, before shrugging and pushing the drawer closed, placing the paper on top. "Let's see what you're hiding," Muzan mumbled to himself, rolling out the paper and scanning over it, his eyes landing on his... name? What would Yoriichi be writing his name down for?

Taking more care into reading the writing on the paper, the man's eyes widened. When did he start planning this? The detail, too. How violent. Muzan kept reading, holding back angered tears as he began curling his fingers to form fists, quickly rolling the sheet back up and shoving it back into its rightful place. Just then, the door clicked and faint footsteps caught Muzan's attention. That sick, lying bastard, anger bubbled up in Muzan's stomach, making him feel sick.

I'll show you, just you wait Yoriichi.
