(Author again!!! As promised this part has a longer word count! Now, onto the story!)
**Maya woke to the gentle caress of sunlight spilling through the sheer curtains of her hotel room. The golden light danced across the walls, illuminating her space with warmth and promise.
After stretching, she inhaled the crisp morning air, then rubbed her eyes.
Maya then checked the clock by the bedside '9:21 am'.
She sighed, thankful that she'd woken up earlier than she was supposed— but then remembered she slept earlier as well."Breakfast or shower?"
*A short quick pause*
"I'll just shower first."After a quick shower, she stood in front of the mirror, she then grabbed her hairbrush, brushing through her tousled hair.
For the outfit, Maya chose a white ezio top and pared it with bootcut jeans, paired with chunky loafers. Perfect for the day ahead! Let's not forget about makeup, a simple clean girl look will fit perfectly, with a splash of her perfume.
Maya then felt ready to embrace whatever adventure awaited her.
"Oh wait- before I forget this.."
Maya grabbed her handbag that contained what she needed. Her sketchbook, phone, handkerchief and a pen.As she stepped outside of her hotel room and down to the elevator. Tapping her feet, she thought about how she liked how peaceful it was traveling alone, but it does get pretty lonely at times for Maya. She only had her mother to talk to, who supported her in every step she takes.
She then got out of the elevator, to the lounge and finally— out the hotel.
the warmth of the sun enveloped her, and the vibrant colors of Delphi surrounded her. The cobblestone streets beckoned, with the soft sounds of town waking up, through which she wandered at narrow alleys, engulfing ancient architecture blended into modern life. Her heart jumped with excitement.
~After a 10 minute walk~
Arriving at the museum, Maya was enhanced by the beauty of the sculptures around her.
Maya marveled at the treasures of the past displayed before her. Each artifact whispered stories of gods, heroes, and civilizations long gone.
She spent minutes to hours, lost in the beauty and history, her artistic soul thriving amidst the remnants of a time that felt both distant and achingly familiar.
As she moved from one exhibit to another, something drew her attention—a sculpture of the famous greek god, Apollo.
"It's so... Beautiful.." Maya ventured, gesturing to a statue of Apollo that graced the hall.
"Indeed it is." A tall man with black hair with blue undertones when the light hit responded.
"Each piece carries a heartbeat of history." He added. The man paused for awhile as he saw Maya's eyes locked into his.
"Ah, where are my manners... The name is Vito— Vito Tempus." He then fully faced Maya with a gentle smile on his face.
Maya then snapped back into her senses, embarrassed that she had not noticed she was staring at Vito like he was art himself.
"O-oh, my name's Maya, Maya Rousseau"
Embarrassed, 'fucking hell, why stutter now???' She thought to herself.
Vito chuckled "Are you from here?" He asked.
"No.. I'm from Provence, France."He then raised an eyebrow, curious
"Oh? What are you here for?"
"Exploring the world of art." Maya replied."Do you do art?" She asked
"Yes, I do sculpture."
"Sculpting? That's interesting.."
"It really is."As they began to talk, the world around them faded. Maya shared her love for art and travel, while Vito spoke of the stories behind the pieces.
Their conversation flowed effortlessly, a blend of curiosity and understanding, weaving a connection neither had anticipated.
Maya carefully checked her phone for the time, her eyes then widened on how much time has passed
"What's wrong?" Vito curiously asked
"Nothing- it's just that time flies by really quickly... I can't believe we've been talking for an hour and a half."Vito chuckled once more
"Time has its way of slipping through your fingers like grains of sand, no?"
silence once more."Are you sure you don't do poetry as well?"
Maya breaks the silence between the both of them as their laughter's entwined with one another."Well, I'll get going"
"Already? Going somewhere?"
"Yeah.. somewhere"Maya hummed
"Alright then, I'll see you when I see you."
"Likewise" as he bowed in her direction.Vito's gaze lingered on maya for a moment longer, his eyes full of something she couldn't quite name— regret, or perhaps, longing.
He then turned away, his steps soundless on the ancient stone floor. Maya watched him as he was no longer in her sight.
Maya turned to the statue in front of her
'Why am i feeling like this..' she thought to herself, then faced the opposite direction of where Vito had left. Her eyes tracing the lines of the room one last time, then headed to another sculpture.
