In biology, several important formulas help us understand various processes. Photosynthesis, the process by which plants convert light energy into glucose, is represented by the formula 6CO2+6H2O+light energy→C6H12O6+6O26CO2+6H2O+light energy→C6H12O6+6O2, showing the transformation of carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. Cellular respiration, which occurs in all living cells, is essentially the reverse: C6H12O6+6O2→6CO2+6H2O+ATPC6H12O6+6O2→6CO2+6H2O+ATP, where glucose and oxygen are used to produce energy, carbon dioxide, and water. Population genetics is modeled by the Hardy-Weinberg equation, p2+2pq+q2=1p2+2pq+q2=1, which predicts genetic variation within a population by accounting for allele frequencies. Additionally, exponential population growth can be described by N(t)=N0ertN(t)=N0ert, where the growth rate (rr) and time (tt) determine the future population size N(t)N(t) based on an initial population size N0N0. These formulas provide insight into vital biological processes, from energy production to genetic diversity and population dynamics.
Eliza read over and over and over her biology notes which were highlighted in a pale green colour, but no matter how much she tried, none of it stuck. "Hey, you good?" A voice snapped her out of her thoughts. Nick Nelson stopped all of his studying the moment he noticed how much she was bouncing her leg under the table.
It was form, and the year 11's got given the chance to study during the time where the teacher would usually mark the roll off.
Eliza nodded her head, making eye contact with him. His eyes had flecks of green in them.
they were really pretty.
"Yeah, it's just this stupid biology that i can't get in my head," She stated, placing her highlighter down on the table before leaning back in her seat. Nick gave her a quick glance, before looking down to his own notebook, and looking up at her again.
"I can help you study, if you'd like," He offered kindly, giving her a small shrug. "I know all of these mnemonics which help me remember, they might help you, too."
Eliza blushed ferociously. she didn't even know why.
maybe it was because a boy had never offered to study with her before. or maybe it was his eyes, or his hair, or his freckles.
She coughed into her sleeve, trying to rid her mind of the thoughts that were flowing through it.
"Uhm, yeah, that would be great, actually," Eliza gave the strawberry blonde a small smile, before looking down at her ringed fingers nervously. Nick chuckled slightly, shifting in his own seat.
"Great," he spoke, louder than usual, before sinking back into his seat awkwardly. "I mean, uh, good, yeah i'm happy to help." Nick cleared his throat once he realised how stupid he sounded.
"You can come over to my house on the weekend if you like? i can text you the address," He asked, causing Eliza to turn to him with an almost stunned expression. no boy had ever invited her to their house before.
"Or, i mean, we don't have to if you don't want to, we can always go to the library or somet-"
he was cut off by Eliza, who placed a comforting hand on his arm, "You're house sounds good, thank you," She gave him a sweet smile, one that gave him butterflies.
