CHAPTER 2:

Midoriya enters the apartment, exhausted from the long day of teaching and the uneasy feeling he'd had earlier.

The smell of food fills the air as Bakugo prepares dinner in the kitchen, while Todoroki has just stepped out of the bathroom, his hair still damp from the shower.

Midoriya (rubbing his eyes, his voice tired): "I'm back... What smells so good?"

Bakugo (from the kitchen, glancing over his shoulder): "Oi, Deku! You're late. I made dinner. Hope you can stay awake long enough to eat it."

Todoroki (toweling his hair as he walks into the living room): "Welcome back, Midoriya. Long day?"

Midoriya (yawning, dropping his bag by the door): "Yeah... really long. But I'm glad to be home. Thanks, Bakugo... I'll eat in a minute."

Midoriya walks over to the couch, intending to sit down for just a moment.

But as soon as he does, exhaustion overtakes him. His eyelids grow heavy, and before he knows it, he's fast asleep, curled up on the couch.

Bakugo (noticing him): "Tch, really? Fell asleep already?"

Todoroki (smiled) :"let him rest..."

Bakugo turns off the stove and walks over to the living room, standing over Midoriya with his arms crossed, looking both annoyed and concerned.

Bakugo (grumbling softly): "Stupid nerd doesn't know how to pace himself..."

Todoroki (walking over as well, his voice quiet but calm): "He must've had a really tough day. He looks completely worn out."

Bakugo (glancing at Todoroki, still sounding annoyed): "Yeah, well, he always overworks himself. He never changes."

Todoroki (sitting down near Midoriya, observing him with a soft expression): "It's just who he is. Always pushing himself for others. But still... he should take better care of himself."

Bakugo (sighing, but there's a hint of fondness in his voice): "Yeah, well, someone's gotta make sure he doesn't run himself into the ground."

The two of them stand there for a moment, watching as Midoriya breathes steadily in his sleep, his face peaceful despite the fatigue.

Todoroki (softly, with a small smile): "He looks... calm. Like he doesn't have the weight of the world on his shoulders for once."

Bakugo (gruffly): "Yeah, well, the idiot deserves some peace after everything. But he's not gonna get any if he keeps this up."

Todoroki (nodding): "Maybe we should let him sleep for a while. He can eat later."

Bakugo (looking conflicted for a moment before sighing): "Fine. He needs the rest more than the food right now."

Bakugo grabs a blanket from the nearby chair and roughly throws it over Midoriya, covering him as best he can.

Todoroki (raising an eyebrow, amused): "You're surprisingly gentle with him."

Bakugo (flustered, turning away): "Shut up, Icy Hot. Just don't let him catch a cold or something. I'm not babysitting him."

Todoroki (smirking slightly): "Of course not."

The two heroes settle into the quiet of the evening, Todoroki sitting back in a chair while Bakugo busies himself in the kitchen again, his eyes occasionally flicking over to make sure Midoriya is still resting peacefully.
