NARRATIVE !

It had been one year at Notre Dame, and everything had already gone to shit. Not in the academic or athletic sense, mind you—Sansa was acing her classes with flying colours, consistently earning A's across the board. On top of that, she was leading the Fighting Irish to impressive victories, including triumphing in the Big East and clinching the coveted title in the NCAA Women's Tournament. Yet, despite these achievements, Sansa found herself grappling with a personal crisis that overshadowed her successes. If she had to sum it up in just two words, it would be Wren Bardot.

For the past two days, the two had barely exchanged a word. In fact, Sansa had been avoiding Wren like the plague. That, however, didn't stop Wren from relentlessly banging on her apartment door, her desperate sobs and heartfelt apologies echoing in the hallway.

Sansa could hear every word, every broken plea, but she felt paralyzed by the weight of betrayal. Forgiveness seemed impossible; what Wren had done was simply unforgivable. The mere thought of being near her made Sansa's skin crawl, and all she longed for was to be as far away from her as humanly possible.

"I can't believe I'm actually doing this," Sansa murmured to herself, cocooned in the comforting embrace of her weighted blanket. The darkness of her room felt suffocating, illuminated only by the soft glow of her laptop screen, which she had been staring at for what felt like an eternity. It was nearly midnight, and the thought of facing her mother made her stomach churn. "Mom's going to be pissed," she grumbled, anxiety crept through her body.

With a deep breath, she steeled herself, her finger hovering over the confirm button. This was it. Sansa was leaving Notre Dame, and she hoped to find a place far, far away from Wren Bardot. As she clicked the button, a mixture of dread and relief washed over her. Dread of the wrath she would face from her mother and the media, and relieved that she would finally have some peace of mind. It felt like she was about to leap into the unknown, but perhaps that was exactly what she needed. A fresh start.

I have had an amazing year, full of amazing moments and lovely people. But it is with a heavy heart that I am entering the NCAA transfer portal, for personal reasons not related to sports or studies. Thank you to Notre Dame for an amazing freshman year, and as always thankful to my family, friends, doctors, athletic trainers and fans for their support. Regards, Sansa Solaris.
