ARJUN'S POV

"Alright, everything looks correct! We will go ahead with this plan. Mr. Sinha, put together a team of five people to visit the substitute branches and do an inspection. Got it?"I said to Mr. Sinha, who was sitting across from me.
"Yes, sir, don't worry, it will all be taken care of," he replied confidently.
I closed the file in front of me and told him, "Alright, you can go now."
He quickly stood up and left the office.
Finally, my work for the day was done. I looked at the clock; it was almost 5:00 in the evening. I remembered I needed to take Siya to the doctor. Lately, something had been wrong with her, and she hadn't seemed well.
I opened the drawer next to my desk to take out my phone, but my eyes fell on a photo of my mom. I picked it up and gently touched it, and a smile spread across my face.
"I miss you, Mumma," I whispered to myself.
Just as I was about to close the drawer, I noticed another photo. I pulled it out was a picture of Siya. I'm not sure why I kept this picture with me, but it gives me peace.
In the photo, she is smiling lovingly. This was taken when I proposed to her. There's such a sweet, pure smile on her face as if she had just received all the happiness in the world.
Whenever I look at this picture, I don't know why, but it brings an ache to my heart. Yes, I recently realized that I also have a heart like everyone else, though I never wanted to admit it. This picture reminds me of my sins-how I took away all the happiness and dreams of an innocent girl, how I destroyed everything. I used to deny it, but now, I have accepted that what I did was wrong, very wrong.
I know that what Gaurav did to my mother was unforgivable, and I wanted revenge. But I had no right to make her pay for it. It took me a long time to understand this, a very long time.
After that night, every thought and feeling I had about Siya changed completely. The hatred in my heart turned into regret. I tried many times to talk to her afterward, but she never spoke to me again. I know she had her reasons-what I did that night was nothing less than the act of a beast. I should have listened to her at least once, but my anger and ego blinded me. I saw and heard nothing, and I will always regret that.
Now, I realize that Siya has become a very important part of my life. Just the thought of losing her scares me. I want her to stay with me, by my side, no matter what. I know I sound selfish, but I just can't let her go. Never!
I took a deep breath, gathered my things, and left the office.
At the reception, I asked, "I told you to make a doctor's appointment-when is it?"
"Yes, sir, the appointment is for 5:30," the receptionist replied.
I nodded and left.
I drove fast, not sure why, but I wanted to get home as quickly as possible to be with Siya.
