"Welcome, Miss Thorne," a voice said from the shadows.Isabella spun around, her heart racing. A tall figure emerged from the darkness at the far end of the hall. He moved with an unsettling grace, his black coat blending into the shadows as he stepped forward. His face was pale, angular, and his dark hair fell in waves around his sharp features. But it was his eyes that held her-piercing, icy blue, and filled with something she couldn't quite place. Something dangerous.
"My name is Sebastian Blackwood," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I've been expecting you."
"Expecting me?" Isabella asked, her voice trembling slightly. "How did you know I would come?"
A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips, though it did not reach his eyes. "This house has been waiting for you. As have I."
Isabella frowned, stepping back instinctively. "What do you mean? I don't even know why I'm here. I've never met my relatives, and I certainly don't know you."
Sebastian stepped closer, his presence both alluring and unsettling. "There are many things you do not know, Miss Thorne. But you will. In time."
The wind howled outside, rattling the windows. The entire house seemed to groan under its weight, as though it, too, was alive and restless.
"You should leave this place," Sebastian continued, his voice softer now, almost pleading. "Before it's too late."
A chill crept over Isabella's skin, but she stood her ground. "I've come to claim what is mine. I won't leave."
Sebastian's expression darkened. "Then you will discover the truth. And the cost."
Without another word, he turned and disappeared into the shadows as swiftly as he had come, leaving Isabella standing alone in the empty hall. Her pulse quickened, and her breath came in shallow gasps. What had she stepped into?
She closed her eyes for a moment, steadying herself. She had come too far to turn back now. She would uncover the secrets of Blackmoor, no matter how dark they might be.
Isabella moved deeper into the mansion, the air thick with the weight of forgotten history. She could feel it, the pulse of something ancient, something lurking just beyond the edges of her vision. Whispers echoed faintly in the back of her mind, teasing her with half-remembered dreams. Or were they warnings?
She would soon find out.
See you later ☺️
