A full month has gone by, and everything has been going well so far. For Renee, it has been an interesting time; his friends are doing their best to annoy him, but as usual, he tries to not to give them the satisfaction of getting to

He's been pushing himself to try new experiences, like going out for a while. Stepping outside his comfort zone proved to be a challenge, but ultimately rewarding. Besides work, he enjoys dining out and chatting with friends.

And what about Pierre?

On that day, he had shared his number with him. True to his word, Pierre called, and they ended up talking for hours. Renee has no regrets about giving his number; Pierre has become wonderful company. He texts Renee daily to check in, and he's joined the ranks of those who annoy him, but that's just part of having friends. It seems every friend he has finds a way to irritate him, so he's come to accept it as normal.

There have been days when he struggles to make sense of his life. At times, he feels overwhelmed and longs for solitude--an alone time with himself, and other times, he finds himself feeling sorry for his situation. It's been a long four weeks, and he's still grappling with the absence of him in his life. That void in his heart remains, but he recognizes he's improving; he thinks of him less often than before. It still hurts, though-only when he doesn't dwell on it does the pain subside.

This week, he's been smiling more.

It seems things are looking up.

He lay flat on his bed, letting out a tired sigh.

His friends had just left after a movie binge. They couldn't stay the night, claiming they had other commitments, but Renee didn't mind.

Suddenly, his phone chimed with a new message. He checked it and saw it was from Pierre.

A smile spread across his face as he read the message.

(The offer still stands) - Pierre.

Pierre had invited him to dinner, and while he had said he would think it over, he wasn't typically one to eat out. He preferred home-cooked meals, but since he's been trying new things and he's eaten out before, he's starting to consider dining out with Pierre.

He wants to but can't shake the sense that there's something deeper at play. Pierre has been exceptionally kind to him, treating him in a way that stands out, and he's flirted with him more times than he can count. It's clear that Pierre is hinting at wanting something more, leaving him uncertain about his feelings. Although Pierre visits his house occasionally and they enjoy each other's company, there's an underlying awkwardness when he considers the possibility of a deeper relationship.

Perhaps he's just overthinking the situation; maybe Pierre is simply looking for friendship. He shouldn't let paranoia get the best of him.

He typed a response to Pierre.

(Okay.)

The reply came back swiftly.

(Really?)

(Yes)

(Okay great. Dinner it is then. Tomorrow at 7, is that okay?)

(Yeah.)

(Okay. See ya tomorrow then)

(Yeah, Goodnight)

(Goodnight ❤️)

He let out a sigh and set his phone down beside him.

As soon as his head hit the pillow, he fell asleep.

It was lunchtime, and his assistant had just entered to deliver some files that required his signature. He reclined in his chair, twirling a pen between his fingers as it swiveled slightly beneath him. Suddenly, a knock echoed on the rich mahogany door.
