ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴇɪɢʜʙᴏʀʜᴏᴏᴅ

Before jumping into the car, Maria takes one last look at the empty house that was once home to her. Sadly, Maria and Alejandro are moving to a new neighborhood, 15 minutes away. Maria had broken up with her boyfriend, Milo, a week ago, ending things before they got too far. Looking back at the house, all of the memories come back to life, her Quinceanera, when she met her mum's new boyfriend, everything.

Suddenly, she feels tears gather in her eyes. Quickly turning around, she gets into the car, looking in the mirror to make sure she didn't mess up her makeup. Then, her brother, Alejandro, comes running out of the house. "¡¿Oh mi señor, ya estás llorando?!¹" he groans, jumping into the back. "Yeah, duh." Maria responds, rolling her eyes. Then, he mum gets into the car.

"Mama, can we pick something up to eat on the way to the new house?" Maria asks, looking up restaurants. "We can go through a drive-through, like Chick-Fil-A?" she asks, looking over at Maria. "Yess, I'm good with that, Mama." she says, getting excited.

Looking back, Marìa found her brother, Alejandro, rolling his eyes. "Dios mío, Alejandro, ¡te gusta Chick-Fil-A!²" she yells, frustrated by his pickiness. "Yeah, but we eat it ALL of the time!" he groans, looking out of the window. "Alejandro Tomas, si sigues quejándote no vas a conseguir NADA para comer, ¿me entiendes?³" their mum yells.

"O-Ok..." he answers, continuing to look out the window. They pull up to Chick-Fil-A, and the worker takes their order. Once they get their food, they leave and eventually makes it to the new house. "Wow, it's so big..!" Maria says, surprised. They pull into the driveway.

Maria and Ale jump out of the car, throwing their trash away as they run up to the house. Their mum eventually catches up, unlocking the door. They run inside, listening to the echo from their footsteps. "Which room is mine?" Alejandro asks their mum. "Primera puerta del segundo piso a la derecha⁴." his mum answers, and he runs up the stairs.

2 hours later...

After looking through the house, Ale and Maria walk around the neighborhood. "It's nice, isn't it?" Maria says, looking around. "Yeah, it is." Alejandro answers, when he sees a group of, around the same age, teenagers down the street. Maria notices that they are walking toward them, so she pats her hair down and puts on music, trying to ignore them.

As they got closer, they were easier to make out. There were 2 boys and 1 girl, both boys were much taller than the girl. As they came even closer, their voices continued to get louder. "That girl was so hot..." the Japanese boy practically yelled. "Dude, shut the hell up!" the blonde girl said, slapping his shoulder. "Aye, stop..." he says, turning around and making eye contact with her.

The girl's face turns red, and the boy turns back around. The other boy just kept walking, ignoring the bickering coming from behind him. Once they got up to Maria and Alejandro, the Japanese boy's jaw dropped. "Hey, are you guys new to the neighborhood?" he asks, making eye contact with Maria. "No, we're just walking around not knowing where we're going..." Maria states sarcastically, making the darker boy look up from his phone.

"Hey." he said, ignoring eye contact. "H-Hello..." Maria stutters, noticing how handsome he is. Alejandro then introduces himself to the others. "So, what are your guy's names?" the blonde girl asks, "I'll start, I'm Amelia, him," pointing to the Japanese boy, "is Kyo-San, but just call him Kyo. And him", pointing to the darker boy, "is Nolen." she says, rolling her eyes. "He doesn't like alot of people, he's been through shit." Amelia says. "Uh, my name is Maria and this is my brother, Alejandro." Maria says, making Nolen look up from his phone once again.

"Well, we need to go help unpack our stuff from the moving van, we'll see you guys later..." Alejandro says, turning around quickly, grabbing Maria's hand. "A-Ale..." she stutters, dragging along. "U-Uh, ok, bye?" Amelia says, questioning.

Making their way back down the road, Alejandro slows down once they are out of sight of the others. "What is your problem?" Maria yells, thrusting her hand back. "Just don't ask, Mar, it don't matter. We have to unpack..." he groans, turning onto the driveway.

Finally, making it to the house, Maria goes up into her room, where she finds boxes. She starts to unpack the boxes, noticing that half of her stuff is already unpacked. She takes out her makeup, setting it on her makeup desk. She then hangs up her LED lights, turning them on pink, setting the mood. Then, she unpacks her clothes, hanging up her clothes in her closet and putting her everyday clothes in her dresser.

Once she was done unpacking, she throws on a bra and her Hello Kitty pajama pants and grabs her phone and earbuds. She lightly closes the door, walking outside. Maria starts to walk around, when she sees someone in a black jacket and a black mask. She gets worried, quickening her pace. Then, someone grabs her shoulder, turning her around. "Hey, I'm sorry about earlier..." the person says. Steadying herself, she realizes who it is. Nolen.

"O-Oh, it's fine..." Maria stutters, recognizing the handsome figure. "I don't know if they told you, but my name is Nolen." he says, making eye contact with her. Maria finds his dark brown eyes, losing herself in them. "U-Uh, my name is Maria..." she says, stuttering once again. "Pretty name, princess." he says, his thick lips turning into a smile.

"T-Thank you..." Maria blushes under her makeup. He finds a loose strand of hair, and tucks it behind her ear, making her blush become visible. "So, pretty girl, what are you doing out so late? It's like 9:30..." he asks, and Maria realizes how late it really is. "U-Uh, I didn't know it was so late... I-I should get ba...." Maria fades out as he grabs her around the waist.

He quickly realizes what he did and pulls away, turning around and cursing to himself. "My bad, pretty girl, I got carried away..." Nolen says, turning back around to find a blush on Maria's face. "I-I'm going to start walking back now, it's nice to meet you officially..." Maria says nervously, starting to walk away. "You too, princess, hopefully we can get together some time..." he says, grabbing her shoulders, squeezing lightly.

Walking away, Maria replays the moment in her head 3 or 4 times, trying to remember. Then, she realizes that he seen her in only a bra and pajama pants...
