The sun sets down over the hills, and Perie and Carl both get settled in their beds. Carl in his comfy and warm bed and Perie in her pile of hay, in the old abandoned barn she had been in since she was a cub.
There was a hole in the roof of the barn, which thankfully wasn't directly over her bed. Through it though Perie could see the stars in the night sky. As she looked at the stars, she'd think about herself. Unlike many furmen in England, she didn't have a proper home, or a proper life for a furmen fox. If anything she was living more like a wild fox, which, while wasn't completely uncommon, it at times made her feel... pathetic.
She rolled over on her side and curled up, starting to shake a little. She wraps her tail around herself. She tried to tell herself that she's alright. Her life is fine. She gets to have whatever she wants and have fun all the time without any consequences. She doesn't need a home. She doesn't need a fancy life. She doesn't need friends.
"I'm am happy..." She says quietly to herself.
She then holds herself tucks her head down, beginning to cry softly. She hates having to go to bed, because only then she fully comprehends her life.
