Malar.

"Malar, can you bring the order from the table No. 3 they don't want it anymore. We will whisk something up for them." Leon Anna (anna-brother.) asked me and I nodded. I went towards the table No. 3 and took their new order and cleared the table.

I work in the small cafe in the evening and Morning when it is highly busy, otherwise I do the other jobs. The cafe's name is the cuppa cove. We serve many things like coffee, tea varieties and pastries not just sweet ones but curry puffs too.

I was walking back and forth and Leon Anna gave me the orders for the table No. 5 and I took it from his hands, table no.5 is my favourite place in this cafe it is far secluded and it also gives a beautiful view of the city which is full of chaos but from there it is just a silent spectacle to watch.

I went there and served the orders I didn't look up to see who they were, this job comes with talking only when it is needed that is why I like this job. As I went there the talks stopped and I looked up and saw there was a woman of around the age of 55 her side a man around the 60's. I looked at their opposite side to see the man, I gasped looking at him.

He is the Bane of my existence.

Velan or more precisely Vadivelan sir the professor of my Instrumentation subject. I looked away from him co.posing myself and said.

"If you need anything Ma'am, please hesitate to call any one of us." I said and left the place. I saw his eyes lingering with questions but I don't want to answer, if we answer the eyes would show either pity or concern. The emotions I highly hate.

I didn't go near the table No. 5 again for my own safety. I saw the time to be seven so I bid my farewell to Leon Anna and took my motorcycle and arrived at my regular resting place a beaten down house. Trust me this has seen better days.

I sighed and went inside the house and refreshed myself, I took the T-shirt of the delivery service company that I work in and wore it. I went to their office and took my essentials a delivery bag and everything. I started the 7:00 to 11:00 pm job.

I went to every house to deliver with a smile. It takes a lot in me to do this but I have to, the college few never pays itself.

I did my job and came to my house around 11:30 pm, Today it we had more customer orders. I sighed as my body was aching to have a good night's sleep. I went and was surprised to see Velan sir standing infront of my house. I frowned but got angry when I saw him thinking why he came to my house.

Velan.

I went along with her when she left the cafe, I just wanted to check on her after what happened yesterday, I feel sorry for her. I sighed as she stood infront of a beaten down house. I knew she was not very well off but the house was in a very shady place how does she survived here.

Maybe she is not alone, I waited for her as she went in, to have a talk with her parents. But she came outside all dressed in a food delivery service company, I frowned.

I went and tapped the door only to see it locked from outside. I frowned again why is there nobody here, are they working?

"Who are you?" A man from the opposite side of the house called to me.

"Oh, I am the professor in the college which Malar studies do you know where her parents' are?" I asked and he looked at me with a shock in his face.

"Please, come in sir." He invited to his house. But I politely declined.

"No, no I just want to talk to her parents' about her studies." I said and he looked at her me with a sad smile.

"Malar, is alone sir. She doesn't have any parents." He said and I was shocked to hear him say. I gulped hearing him. He invited me to talk about her to his house as he was like a brother to her.

"Malar, grew as a orphan and after eighteen she was not able to stay in the orphanage so she came here first by saving some money. She worked from a very young age." He said working from a young age fro what age does she work.

"She stays in my house, the one she stays is owned by me. She was very young and the only place she could afford was mine. I was afraid took, because this place is for the rowdies like me but she said she couldn't afford anything." I gulped hearing him say.

"I was newly married my wife happily took her in front where she stays in my home, then on she is like my sister. Though she considers me her family she won't get even a single penny from me that is why she works from morning till evening. So please tell me if she needs anything I can do or I call Leo the owner of the cafe where she works." He said and I looked away from him thinking what happened in the college.

"I- she studies really well, I just wanted to say that they are giving scholarships for the students who excel in college and I need her parents signature." I lied.

"Oh, I can sign if you want." He said and I shook my head with a smile.

"No, sir if you were her a guardian in the certificate then you can but you are not so I will ask her to directly sign this. Tomorrow is the last to fill this up." I said and he nodded with understanding. Thank God.

"She will only come after eleven." He said and I nodded. "If you want you can stay here today." He said extending the invitation but I politely declined.

I excused myself and sat on the Verandah of Malar's house and waited for her. When does she get to study, will she even get to eat properly.

These questions gnawed at me and that is when I heard a horn there she was coming in her Activa with an ever furious face.
