Knowledge is power,
But power isn't everything.
However, with leaders
Their praises we seem to sing.
We learn through education
And use what we've learned
To rise in power
To get positions we haven't earned.
We rise and rise to the top
So we don't feel like a flop.
Manners are taught
By parents, teachers, and administrators
And we ought
To remember them as we grow into adults
Knowledge is treasured
And adored
The amount of knowledge we have is measured
And keeps us from being bored
I
ntellect is considered a treasure,
A gift, a prize
We consider it a rare breed
And that causes a lot of greed.
Learn what you must,
And learn what you want
Find those you can trust,
And hold onto them so they don't become someone you haunt.
It's important to remember to stay humble,
To constantly feel that we can still learn
Speak up, don't mumble,
Knowledge is something we must earn.
