"If you spend your time hoping
someone will suffer the consequences
for what they did to your heart,
then you're allowing them to hurt you
a second time in your mind."

ARJUN'S POV

"Sir, you need to sign here."

A nurse said while handing me Siya's discharge papers.

I signed and made the payment.

After finishing all the formalities, I went back to Siya's room. I saw a nurse was giving her medicine, and once she finished, she left. I approached Siya, and as soon as she saw me, she smiled happily and asked me.

"Now we can leave, right? You've completed my discharge?"

I chuckled at her excitement.

"Why, is this hospital that bad? You seem so eager to leave," I teased.

She made a cute pout and told me.

"I don't like hospitals at all. I feel like I get even sicker whenever I come here."

I looked at her in confusion.

"What's so bad about being here?" I asked.

"You wouldn't understand! You know, when I had a brain tumor, it felt like I spent an entire year in the hospital before, the surgery, after the surgery, and even after being discharged, I had to come here twice a week. It was so traumatizing."

Seeing her sad face made me feel down too. I moved closer and gently caressed her face.

"We're leaving soon, but Dr. Nisha just needs to check on you one last time, okay?"

She looked at me with confusion and asked, "Who is Dr. Nisha?"

"The doctor who treated you. She's really good, probably around your age, but she is so talented. Even she handled your critical case so well."

I told her with a smile.

As I praised the doctor, Siya made a funny face, and said, "I just had my period, not a heart attack, for it to be a critical case. Now I, too, want to meet your 'talented' doctor." She said this in a strange tone.

I had earlier requested Dr. Nisha to come up with an excuse and not tell Siya about her pregnancy because I didn't want her to know yet. I would tell her at the right time, but for now, she needed rest.

After a while, Dr. Nisha arrived, checked her one last time, asked her a few questions, and then turned to me.

"She's perfectly fine, Mr. Rathore. There's nothing to worry about anything. Just make sure to give her the medicines on time and bring her in for check-ups." She informed me.

Hearing her words, I smiled wholeheartedly and said, "Thank you very much, doctor."

Dr. Nisha smiled back and replied, "No need to thank me; it was my duty." She handed me a file and said, "Here is your wife's file. I've also put my card in there, so if there's any problem, feel free to call me anytime."

I took the file and thanked her again. Dr. Nisha turned to Siya and said, "Take care of yourself, Mrs. Rathore."

But Siya didn't respond and turned her face the other way.

After the doctor left, I looked at her.

"That was rude! You should have at least said thank you. She helped us so much."

Siya looked at me with a shocked expression and said, "You were saying so much. Thank you for that, too while smiling. I felt that it wouldn't make any difference if I didn't thank her." She said this in a sarcastic voice.
