Nikki fell to the ground as Georgia opened her eyes. They were in Cloud empire and something terrifying was happening. Georgia almost couldn't handle all of the shouting around her.
It's so loud... She kept on thinking.
As she held Nikki in her arms, a mysterious person grabbed her shoulder, pulled out a sword, and aimed it at her throat. Georgia's vision was blurry, but the only thing she could make out was that it was a man with long brown hair and a white outfit.
Before she could do anything else, the sword pierced her chest, making her vision go black.
----------------------------------------------------------
Georgia woke up in a bed with Nikki by her side. She quickly got off the bed and woke Nikki up.
"Why were you sleeping right next to me?!" Georgia yelled.
"I was? Wait, where are we? This isn't our apartment." Nikki said. She quickly went to the window and looked out, they were in Cloud empire. Nikki then checked the closet, it was filled with ancient clothes from famous Cloudcrest designers.
"Should we change into these?" Nikki asked.
Georgia nodded. They both went into separate rooms and came out wearing different colored outfits. Georgia got out first and found a white detailed face mask on the side table. She put it on with no questions. Of course, when Nikki came out, hers was pink.
"How am I starting to realize now that you look more elegant in Cloudcrest clothing?" Nikki asked. Georgia shrugged, she seemed more quiet.
"Are you ok Georgia?" Nikki asked. Georgia shook her head.
"No, I can't get last night out of my head. We were trapped in a chamber and then a man wearing white made us become unconscious. Now we've woken up in this random bedroom in Cloud empire. Doesn't it feel strange?" Nikki nodded.
"Maybe we should investigate this later, let's go outside." Nikki said, opening the door.
"Hey! What are you doing up this late?!" A girl yelled while walking in the hall. The girl was Chi Xiaoyu but in more fancy clothing. "Master is waiting for us! Come on!"
Xiaoyu grabbed Nikki and Georgia's hands and started guiding them to a mountain. During the walk, Nikki asked her questions.
"Why are we seeing this 'Master'?"
"You don't remember? Jeez, you two are so forgetful. We all agreed to become his faithful disciples, so we're going up there to learn and see if we can pass his training. We've been here for a few days already."
"And why did we agree to do this?" Georgia asked.
"Well Nikki wanted to do it because she wanted to try something new, while you wanted to find your 'destiny'. Honestly G, do you really think you can surpass his training?"
Georgia stared at her with anger and Xiaoyu rolled her eyes. Georgia and Nikki talked quietly behind Xiaoyu.
"Are we in a story?" Nikki asked.
"Possibly, this is probably the story that Yueniang wrote."
"What is it about?"
"It's about three disciples who did all they could to become the best people in Cloud empire, only to die in the very end."
"Oh my god, doesn't that mean that we'll-"
"Don't even worry about it. We'll deal with the matter later. Let's just play along like the characters in the story would."
----------------------------------------------------------
"You're late, 2 hours late. What took you so long?" The Master asked, crossing his arms.
"Master, you know walking up the mountain takes literally FOREVER to get to here."
The man sighed, closing his fan. "I'll let this one slide, so you girls know how to follow the rules?" They all nodded. Nikki and Xiaoyu seemed nervous. Georgia stood still.
"Now, go to your classes and once you're done, meet me by the pond."
The man gave them all a scroll and led them to a classroom, where everyone sat on flat pillows. Nikki, Xiaoyu, and Georgia sat next to each other. Other people sat nearby talking about who knows what.
"Settle it down class." The professor said. "Now turn to page 859."
The lesson went on for what felt like a decade. Georgia stayed focused, Nikki tried to stay focused but couldn't, and Xiaoyu just fell asleep. They were learning about the war between two clans.
"Professor, I don't think they should've fought." A random girl said.
The professor turned around and asked, "Why do you think that?" His cold stare scared the girl.
She then replied. "Wouldn't it have made it more dangerous for the citizens of both clans? If that's so, then they shouldn't fight."
"How pathetic. Peace doesn't always work in wars between the sects, it seems you've been reading those love novels, and I said last time those were a waste of time."
Georgia wrote down a few bits of information into her notebook that Master had given her. She had not only been focused on what he was saying, but she'd also been observing the teacher and not once had he shown any respect for any of the students. Nikki could understand Georgia's paranoid traits any time they were in a new place. Although this time, Nikki could feel Georgia being more paranoid than she usually would in these situations.
"You," The professor said, pointing to Georgia. "You seem to have something to say, don't you?"
Georgia stayed silent for a moment and then spoke with no fear in her voice saying, "I actually think it was worth it."
"Yes! You young ones should learn how to care for our clan."
"I believe that while the five poison sect and their poisonous insects were appalling, the sword arts of the righteous sects can also kill. When the righteous use of evil means, the evil means become righteous and vice versa. Like evil sects can kill evil, the orthodox can also kill the righteous."
Georgia paused for a second to look around, most of the people were staring at her with wide eyes. She continued.
"In basic words, the use of poisons is just a means. I don't find it to be proof that the Five poison sect was entirely evil."
The professor thought about it and slammed his fist on his desk. "Damn it young lady! You're pulling at my head strings right now and it's only your first day here!"
The other peers started to talk about the argument as the professor tried to silence them. Georgia's vision suddenly focused on the door and that's when she saw a white figure pass by quickly. She was mesmerized by what she saw but then realized that it seemed odd too so it scared her.
Was it a ghost? She thought.
Her thoughts were interrupted when Nikki said, "Georgia, you made a good point there."
"C'mon, let's go. It's already time to go anyway." Xiaoyu said, leading them to the door.
