It was a rare, peaceful day as Yuki and Zero made their way through the town, running errands for the Academy. The sun hung low in the sky, casting warm golden light over the cobblestone streets, and there was a quiet stillness that filled the air between them.

Neither of them had brought up the incident from the other night, Kaname's kiss with Akumi, and how it had unraveled something within both of them. But that didn't mean it wasn't weighing heavily on their minds.

For Zero, the silence between him and Akumi had become a torture. Every day she ignored him, his resolve seemed to weaken. It was like something inside him was cracking, his entire being screaming for her attention, her acknowledgment.

The possessiveness he tried to bury, the hatred for what she was a pureblood was now mixed with a deep, undeniable longing. It was all-consuming, maddening, and it only got worse with each passing day. But he refused to speak of it, even to Yuki.

Yuki, on the other hand, kept stealing glances at Zero as they walked. She had noticed the subtle changes in him. The way his eyes searched for Akumi, even if she never spared him a glance anymore. It was painful to watch him suffer, and even more painful because she didn't understand exactly what was pulling him toward Akumi. She had her own conflicted feelings about Kaname, but Zero's bond with Akumi... it was something else entirely.

Their quiet walk was abruptly interrupted when they stumbled upon a Level E vampire, its eyes wild and feral. Without a word, both of them sprang into action, instinct kicking in. The chase began through the narrow streets of the town as the vampire darted through alleyways, knocking over market stalls and scattering people in its wake.

Yuki and Zero were relentless, determined to catch it before it could harm anyone. Zero, always the stronger fighter, closed in on the vampire, drawing his weapon and preparing to land the finishing blow. His eyes gleamed with determination and frustration, a reflection of his inner turmoil.

Just as Zero was about to strike, Takuma and Senri appeared out of nowhere. With a single, swift movement, Takuma's blade lashed out and cut through the Level E vampire, reducing it to ash.

Yuki gasped, startled by the sudden intervention. She hadn't expected to see any of the Night Class members here, much less Takuma and Senri. She exchanged a look with Zero, who was clearly frustrated that he hadn't been the one to finish the job.

Takuma, ever the calm and collected presence, sheathed his weapon and looked at them with a faint smile.

" Seems like we arrived just in time. " He said, as if this was a routine occurrence.

" But... why did you kill it? " Yuki, still processing what had just happened, stepped forward.

" I know it was a Level E, but they're still vampires. Aren't we supposed to... " She asked, confusion lacing her voice.

" It's done. " Takuma cut her off with a gentle smile that didn't reach his eyes.

" Some things are better left unsaid, Yuki. " He replied cryptically, his tone leaving no room for further questions.

Senri stood off to the side, silent as usual, but his sharp eyes followed the exchange. There was a tension in the air, something unspoken between the Night Class and the two prefects.

" If there's something going on, you should tell us. " Zero narrowed his eyes at Takuma, clearly not satisfied with his vague response.

" We're not just going to turn a blind eye. " He said, his voice firm.

" If you really want to understand what's happening, come to the Moon Dormitory tonight. That's all I can say for now. " Takuma's expression softened slightly, but there was still a sense of mystery behind his smile.
