Backstory:
Esme's parents were fucking terrible I hate them- During her childhood, she had extremely neglectful and abusive parents. Before she got to meet her brother, Quince, they had abandoned him. During those years, she had a close friend, Delores. Eventually, while they were adults and Esme had finally been able to move out of her parents house, the apocalypse started. They planned on getting somewhere safe, but beforehand, Esme had eaten a custard. They ran into an infected while traveling and it attacked them. Esme stayed back and fought it off while Delores ran off somewhere and waited for her. Esme died from blood loss. She's now lurking around in some abandoned building.
