Whoever said being the daughter of a super hero was easy? Because I sure didn't. Sure it's a nice life, but your constantly living undercover, using a secret identity that the government gave you. Of course, I didn't have a secret identity. My father did. The great and powerful Thor. Me and my mom are the only ones who know his true identity. I have no super powers of my own, which is kinda devastating if you ask me. I mean the mighty Thor's daughter hasn't any powers of her own. But my mom didn't have any powers though. She died when I was three. I have no memory of her, except the pictures that hung around our house of us together as a family.  So there ya go. Living undercover because my dad has super powers and I haven't got any, then keeping my knowledge of his powers a secret. With no mother either. That was my life.
I finally snapped back into reality, and got back into my book. My mind tended to wander off while I was reading sometimes. One thought led to the next, then the next thing you know I'm thinking about horses when reading a history book. The difference between an element and a compound is……. I read out of our science textbooks. Uh-oh. I was supposed to already be on page nine. I flipped as quickly as I could to page nine, berly skimming over the pages as I went. I had no idea what it was talking about now. Something about counting the atoms? “ Meg, would you mind showing us how to count the atoms on the white board?” Mrs. Ossian asked. I looked up at her and stared confused. I wasn't paying attention. “ Sorry, I wasn't paying attention.” I replied. “Well, thank you for your honesty, but please pay more attention.  The last and final exam for this year's science is next Wednesday, and you must know all this stuff.” She said, then looked across the room towards Justin. "Please come and solve this Justin.” He walked up to the board with a smug look on his face. Justin the Jerk was his nickname around school. He hung out with the bad popular, and was super mean towards me.
I never could figure out why, but he and his group of snobs came and always picked on me at recess and lunch. I guess it was because I was a loner. Always reading or drawing. I just wound up walking away. Who would pick a fight with Justin? Especially when he had a ton of other friends that would gang up on someone. The bell had just rung for the end of class and dismissal, and I was very glad to go home. Today my dad and I were going to check out a summer camp. He had lots of work to do over the summer, even out of the county meetings and what not, so I was going to go to a summer camp. I loved  horses and this one was right up my alley.  It was a horse, sports, and art summer camp. We had talked about it over the past few weeks, and he finally made the call to register me. They were giving a tour to the parents, and “students” today at four.
As I was waiting for my school bus, number 23, Justine the Jerk came up with four of his other friends. “Head in the clouds Meg?” Justine started, smirking. “More like in the ditches!” One of his friends named Alex laughed. With nowhere to go, no book, and no sketch pad, I finally spoke up. “Why don’t you just mind your own business?” I snapped back. “Ohhh. Okay, I see you're challenging me?” Justine said, crossing his arms with a smirk. “Like you could ever stand up to anyone.” He chuckled with his friends. Something inside of me snapped. My father was Thor, why was I being such a chicken? I could fight them off, possible. Sure I don’t have powers but I did have strength. Why didn’t I do this sooner. “What did you say?” I said, finally turning to face them. “I said,” He repeated himself, gritting his teeth. “You could never stand up to anyone or for anyone.” At that moment, my blood was boiling. I threw down my backpack and something incredible happened. My eyes started glowing silver , as well as the outline of my body. I raised my fist and with a mighty punch, hit Justin square in the gut. Instead of him standing in place though, he flew backwards at least 5 feet. Once all the glowing stopped, his friends had shock on their faces and just stared at me, while a groan from Justine rang out. “What did you do?” I honestly didn’t know what I just did, but I knew they would never mess with me again. “Next time you even dare to breathe a word.” I said looking at them. “I will be after you.”
Still shocked from what happened, I got off my bus and headed into our house. I surprisingly found my dad already there. “Hey dad.” I said as I walked into the kitchen. “Hey, there’s my girl. Are you ready for 5:00?” He asked, setting his newspaper down. “Sure am.” I said, in an unconvincing way. “That doesn't sound too convincing.” My dad said, reaching for his coffee. “Something happen at school?” “No, everythings fine, just tired. We had about an hour of lectures from the math teacher. About dividing and multiplying fractions. We only did two problems and the rest was him talking.” I said. Really and truly, I had so many questions for my dad. Why was I glowing? Why don’t I have powers all the time? What's gonna happen when the school finds out I punched Justine in the gut?
