Kritika POV:

This morning, I couldn’t help but wonder if the sun had risen earlier than usual, but despite that, I felt incredibly lazy. Suddenly, it hit me—I had to visit Rathore company today. I quickly started my morning chores and found myself once again contemplating what to wear. I decided on a kurti, thinking it would be the best choice. Since Aarav bhaiya and his brother would be there, I wanted to dress simply to avoid giving off any impression of arrogance. Just kidding! I wasn’t sure if Aarav bhaiya’s brother was younger or older to him, but I knew he had a younger sister for whom they were building this new branch of their company. As I played my music and did my makeup, I decided to keep my hair open today because I felt like it. Music is essential for me to get through my chores. Finally, I glanced at myself in the mirror and felt I looked quite presentable. I decided to ask Adu for her opinion as well, since her opinion matters a lot to me—she’s like my twin soul. Speaking of Adu, she seems so happy these days, and I’m curious about the person who makes her smile and feel so energetic. Whoever he is, he should know that she is very important to me, Shivu bhaiya, and our family.

Stepping into Adu’s room as usual, I found her deeply engrossed in her laptop, her serious expression making me sigh. This girl wouldn’t stop working even in the morning. I called out to her, “Adu, listen, I’m looking presentable, right?” She scanned me from top to bottom and exclaimed, “Haayeeee, kya lagre hai!!! Umaaahhhh,” blowing a flying kiss my way. This girl! I hugged her, and she responded with a bone-crushing hug, saying, “All the best, meri jaan. Anyway, we’ll be handling it, but you still need to impress the other brother. I’ve heard he’s quite choosy about things, so just give your best. Do call me if you need anything, okay? I love you, babes. Now go, or you’ll be late.”

My outfit for the day:

Finally, I reached my destination, and the watchman uncle asked me who I was and the purpose of my visit. I greeted him with a “Namaste, kaka,” and explained, “Actually, I’m an interior designer. You can ask Aarav bhai; he called me today to discuss some work.” Kaka opened the gate and apologized, saying, “Arey beta, sorry, don’t consider me rude. It’s part of my job. You can go inside, and I’ll inform baba when he comes that you’re waiting inside.” I smiled, parked my car, and went inside the office. The construction work was impressive, and I couldn’t help but admire it. Then I mentally scolded myself, reminding myself that I was here to work, not to grade the construction. As I was scanning the surroundings, I heard the sound of a car arriving—it seemed like bhaiya had arrived. I sat on a nearby couch, checked my appearance to ensure I was presentable, and then saw him walking in with a wide smile. I smiled back, and he came over and gave me a side hug, reminding me so much of my Kshitij bhai, whom I miss dearly. He asked if I had eaten anything in the morning and offered to have someone bring me breakfast if I hadn’t. We chatted for a few minutes, and then he said, “Ye ladka bhi na, kaha reh gaya hai. Sorry, Kritika, just a minute. Let me call my younger one; he wanted to discuss a few plans with you.” Bhai called his brother and scolded him, which was quite interesting. I told him I would be in the room to see and plan, and asked him to join me once his brother arrived. He agreed and said he would join me as soon as his brother comes.
