Your dark time

In 2025, you went on a date with a man and you two fell in love. In 2026, you became pregnant unintentionally but didn't want to have an abortion, so you decided to keep the baby. But during your pregnancy, your boyfriend became a real asshole and started hitting you, so you eventually had to run away with your baby daughter and ended up back in Washington D.C. in a small apartment near the White House.

But now it is 2030 again and 3.5 years have passed since you met your little daughter's godmother. You really wanted to go there. Livija, your daughter should know that she has a wonderful, beautiful, powerful and iconic godmother who is also serving a second term as President.

You are still standing at the bottom of the many stairs to the White House as you watch Kamala and Livija hugging, you wipe away your tears "You've grown up so much"  Kamala lifts the little girl up and her gaze lands on you. She sees how insecure and uncomfortable you must be feeling. "Come here" she calls from a distance and you go up the stairs to the person you once loved. Kamala pulls you into a hug "Is everything OK? Do you want to talk?" she asks you. You just remain silent "Let us in first...it's pretty cold out here and I don't want you two sweethearts to get sick" You smile slightly and take Kamala's hand in yours. You two knew that it would never work out between you.

As you two go into the private quarters of the First Family you smell how delicious it smells like delicious food "Ooh, delicious food" you say and lick your lips "Haha" Kamala laughs as she watches you before she puts your daughter down and disappears into a room. Curious, you follow her. The two of you walk through a large dining room to the one where you remember when you were looking for former First Lady Jill Biden. A large wooden table made of dark, well-processed wood stands in the middle of the room and can seat around 12 people. Kamala opens the door to the kitchen. Your eyes widen when you see Kamala's still husband. "Oh hello Y/N, long time no see" Doug says to you and smiles. You ignore him.

You whisper to Kamala "Why is he here?" you ask her confused. She giggles "He is my husband" You nod "Yes...I know that but didn't you want to get divorced almost 6 years ago?" Your voice is desperate and you had hoped that Kamala was finally single "I never give up on things that easily, honey" You turn slightly red in the face when she calls you by a nickname.
After the food was ready, all four of you sat down at the big wooden table. Livija played around with the food "Hey, you don't play around with food, you make everything dirty" you say. The big teddy bear eyes look at you "It's okay if she makes it dirty, we have something like water here to clean it with" Kamala says and puts her hand on your shoulder. You look over at her "I know...but she should learn it" you say "She is only 4 years old, let her be a child for a while...not everyone can experience such a normal childhood" Suddenly you remember that Kamala felt racism on her first day of life and still does today, so you realized how important it is to let someone live in such a way which is good and yet had something to do with fun and freedom.

Later in the evening you and Livija are lying in one of the guest rooms of the White House in a large double bed which is totally comfortable. Kamala stands at the doorway of the room with a wine glass in her hand and her eyes resting on your sleeping body. She wanted to make sure that you were both okay. She hears footsteps behind her "Don't you want to sleep?" Doug asks and hugs his wife from behind "Mmm...it's so beautiful here" she says and sips her wine glass. He remains silent before kissing her cheek "If you mean it then I'll leave you standing here" As he walks away she takes his hand "Doug...please don't think just because she's here That we'll have marriage problems again or something, okay? I'm not in love with her anymore because I love you" Her eyes betray every word she said.
