It was nervous anticipation that greeted Devdutt when he entered the car. They'd had a wonderful time(date!) at the lake, but now they felt like two teenagers at the end of the date, awkward and tense. Dhruv kept looking at him in confusion, wondering what had happened, but Devdutt had no answer himself. All he knew was that he felt his senses on full alert, and every time he inhaled, he was hit in the face with Dhruv's scent, which was driving him wild. He kept wringing his hands together, with one thought constantly bugging him - he wanted to kiss Dhruv, desperately (that was also the reason he didn't want Dhruv to pick him up at the airport, lest he jump him right there) every moment since he laid eyes on him, but, BUT, they shared a room - will it get more awkward?

The car halted to a stop, cutting off his brooding. They'd reached home.

Dhruv smiled at him, and quickly ran out and around to open Devdutt's door for him.

Devdutt wanted to melt on the spot. Instead, he gave Dhruv one of his brightest smiles and followed him to the door.

Once inside, Devdutt was relieved to notice that Rinku's lights were off, which meant he was asleep.

"You want to freshen up? I'll be after you."

Devdutt nodded, and went to look for his clothes.

When Dhruv was back after freshening up, he found Devdutt sitting on the bed, brimming with nervous energy. Dhruv was intrigued.

"What's taking you so long, c'mon! I got you something!"

Beaming, Dhruv walked toward the bed and sat down.

Devdutt brought a box from behind him, and silently nodded at Dhruv to open it.

When Dhruv opened the box, his mouth fell open.

"This–this–"

He looked at Devdutt, who suddenly felt shy in front of Dhruv.

"I hope it's okay. I just noticed your hands hurt a lot when you practice wicket keeping, and I've especially asked around, these gloves will make sure the ball won't hit hard."

Dhruv continued being quiet.

Devdutt was worried. Had he misread the situation? Did Dhruv not like it? Did he already have the same gloves?

"Dhruv, did I do something wrong?" Devdutt asked, fearfully.

Dhruv blinked back tears, and held Devdutt's face in his hands.

"Devdutt, baby, sunshine - you are incredible, you know that? Thank you, thank you so much for these! I'll definitely be wearing these on special occasions, but you should know you don't have to buy me gifts. You're here, that's enough of a gift for me."

Dhruv touched his forehead to Devdutt's, happy to just breathe him in for a moment. He leaned back and placed a kiss on his forehead, watching Devdutt's eyes fluttering shut from the sensation. Unable to control himself any longer, he gently placed his lips on Devdutt's, eliciting a moan from the lips he had dreamed of for months. The sound sent shivers down his spine, and before he knew it, he was pushed backward and a very eager Devdutt was plundering his mouth. Dhruv closed his eyes at the sensation, his hands finding home on Devdutt's waist as he continued nibbling Dhruv's lips. He seemed reluctant to even breathe for a moment, and Dhruv felt lightheaded as Devdutt continued kissing him.
